The official Tully’s Coffee Japan app, offline since October 22, comes back at 8am on Wednesday, November 4. As an apology, Tully’s is giving 15,000 Beans (Tully’s Points) to everyone who had the app downloaded when it went down. That is enough for a ¥500-off coupon on a drink or on coffee beans.
You don’t need to apply. But the Beans can’t be spent at the register as they are: you first swap them for a coupon in the app, then show it in store. Below is what we found in the official notices and FAQ: which coupon to choose, how long it lasts, what it can’t be used for, and what to check once the app is back.
Last updated: (official announcement: November 2)
Who gets the 15,000 Beans, and when
| What you get | 15,000 Beans (Tully’s Points) Shown as “お詫びポイント” (apology points) in the app’s Beans history |
|---|---|
| Who | Anyone who had downloaded the official app as of the suspension on Thursday, October 22, 2026 |
| When | Credited automatically when service resumes at 8am on Wednesday, November 4 Tully’s says the restart time may shift depending on the work |
| Sign-up | Not needed |
| Use it for | A ¥500-off drink coupon, a ¥500-off coffee bean coupon, and others |
Everyone gets the same 15,000 Beans, however much they normally spend. If you paid by cash or credit card while the digital Tully’s Card was unavailable, the official FAQ says those purchases will not earn Beans after the fact. The flat 15,000 Beans is meant to cover that inconvenience.

15,000 Beans = a ¥500 coupon: which one to pick
Tully’s Points work like this: pay with a Tully’s Card registered in the app and you earn 1 Bean per ¥1 spent (tax included). So 15,000 Beans is what you would normally collect from ¥15,000 of purchases.
Beans are exchanged for coupons in fixed steps. Here is the table from the official app page:
| Beans | Coupon | Beans per ¥1 off |
|---|---|---|
| 2,000 | ¥50 off a drink | 40 |
| 4,000 | ¥100 off a drink | 40 |
| 8,000 | ¥200 off a drink | 40 |
| 15,000 | ¥500 off a drink or ¥500 off coffee beans | 30 |
| 25,000 | ¥1,000 off coffee beans | 25 |
Exchange table from the official Tully’s app page (as of November 3). Right column calculated by us
Measured in Beans per ¥1 off, the small coupons (2,000 to 8,000 Beans) all cost 40 Beans, while the ¥500 coupon costs 30. So swap the 15,000 Beans for one ¥500 coupon rather than several small ones.
If you already had 10,000 Beans or more, the apology points take you to 25,000, which gets the ¥1,000-off coffee bean coupon at 25 Beans per ¥1, the best rate on the table. It covers one item: a bag of coffee beans, Tully’s Zips, or tea bags, so it suits people who were going to buy beans anyway.

How to exchange Beans, and how long they last
- In the official app, go to アプリ ホーム (Home) → もっとみる (More) → 特典と交換する (Exchange for rewards)
- Pick the ¥500 drink coupon or the ¥500 coffee bean coupon and tap 交換する (Exchange)
- The coupon appears under アプリ ホーム → クーポン (Coupons). Show it at the register
| Coupon validity | 90 days from the day you exchange (some coupons excepted; the date is shown on the coupon) |
|---|---|
| Beans validity | 1 year from your last activity (Beans added or used); spinning the roulette, buying with a registered card or exchanging resets it |
| After exchanging | No switching the coupon type, no cancelling, no refund to Beans |
Beans last a year, but a coupon expires 90 days after you get it. There is no need to exchange on November 4: wait until you know you’re going to a Tully’s, and decide between a drink and beans then.
Tully’s also says that, to tighten security, exchanging points for coupons and issuing a digital Tully’s Card in the app will later require logging in to its membership service, Club Tully’s (クラブタリーズ). Timing and details will be announced on the website and in the app.
What the coupons can’t be used for
The official app page lists these conditions for exchanged coupons:
- Not valid on some items such as bottled and packaged drinks
- Can’t be combined with set menus or other discount coupons
- Not valid on One More Coffee & Tea (the second-cup deal) or T’s Ice Slush
- The coffee bean coupon covers one item: coffee beans, Tully’s Zips or tea bags
- Valid at Tully’s Coffee shops in Japan (some shops excluded)
4 things to know after the app comes back
- Points or Tully’s Card not showing? Log in again. Tully’s says logging in again fixes it.
- Mobile ordering is still off. Mobile Order in the official app and via LINE remains under maintenance after November 4, so order at the counter.
- Coupons that expired during the outage come back. Replacements of the same type will be issued gradually by Friday, November 13, valid for 90 days from issue.
- No Beans for purchases made during the outage. Apart from the 15,000 Beans, nothing is credited based on what you spent in that period.

Why the app stopped, and was personal data leaked?
The October 23 notice said the app was paused as a precaution after “unusual access” was detected. On October 28, Tully’s said the investigation found unusual access that used the app’s own features, and extended the suspension to inspect the whole system, including the back-end servers. The original goal of reopening by October 28 was dropped.
On personal data, the November 2 notice says that the investigation so far has found no leak of customers’ personal information and no unauthorized use of Tully’s Card balances or Tully’s Points.

Holiday drinks from November 6

One obvious place to use a ¥500 coupon: Tully’s winter lineup, “LIGHT UP HOLIDAY,” starts on Friday, November 6. The first wave of holiday drinks (tax included, as listed on the official site):
- Tully’s Dubai Chocolate Latte (hot/iced), Tall ¥700
- &TEA Cabernet & Fruit Tea (hot/iced, alcohol-free), Tall ¥675
- Irish Latte (hot/iced, alcohol-free), Short ¥625, Tall ¥685, Grande ¥745
- Holiday Cream Soda (iced), Grande ¥600
The exclusions Tully’s lists for coupons are some bottled and packaged drinks, One More Coffee & Tea and T’s Ice Slush; seasonal drinks are not on that list. A Tall Dubai Chocolate Latte, for example, would leave ¥200 to pay after the ¥500 coupon. The second wave starts on Wednesday, December 2.

FAQ
