COCO’S Japan, a Zensho Holdings company operating the nationwide family restaurant chain “COCO’S,” will hold its “Unagi (Eel) Fair” starting Thursday, July 16, 2026. Timed for the Day of the Ox (Doyo no Ushi no Hi) on Sunday, July 26, the fair serves up stamina-boosting eel dishes perfect for beating the summer heat.
About the COCO’S Unagi Fair
Rich in vitamin A and B-group vitamins, eel is an ideal food for building stamina in summer. COCO’S grills its eel by brushing on the sauce and grilling three separate times, giving it a fragrant, fluffy finish. This year the lineup features four eel dishes, led by the classic Eel Bowl.

Whole-Eel Kiwami Bowl (Unagi Ippiki Kiwami Don)
The star of this year is the Whole-Eel Kiwami Bowl, generously topped with a full eel’s worth of unagi. Made with three fillets equivalent to one whole eel, it delivers serious satisfaction.
Fluffy Eel Omurice ~ Demi-glace Sauce ~
A special menu adding eel to COCO’S popular omurice also makes its debut. Fluffy, silky egg made with three of the brand eggs “Akane Bijin” pairs beautifully with the fragrant, richly marbled eel and a deep demi-glace sauce — a signature COCO’S plate.
