Point Town is the site to choose for the strength of its exits
1 point = ¥1. Rakuten points convert one-for-one, and Rakuten Bank cash-outs start at ¥100 with no fee.
Both ANA and JAL miles convert directly, and the operator is a listed company. That is the real difference here.
What this guide covers
- The referral sign-up bonus is 2,000pt = ¥2,000. The only condition is ¥5,000 worth of approved offers
- 🔴 Boost campaigns run repeatedly. During one the bonus becomes 1.5–2×; at the time of checking it totalled 3,000pt
- Rakuten points convert at 500pt → 500 points — the exchange that loses you money on other sites is one-for-one here
- Rakuten Bank pays out from 100pt = ¥100 with no fee. Other banks are 550pt = ¥500 (a 50pt fee)
- The operator is GMO Media Inc. (TSE Growth, ticker 6180), founded in 2000 with capital of ¥761.97 million

If point sites are new to you, start with the beginner’s guide to point sites and how to spot dangerous ones.
The referral sign-up bonus — 2,000pt, more during a boost
Point Town runs its friend referral as a “mission clear bonus”. Its own campaign articles break the figure into a standing part and a campaign part.
| Component | Points | Condition |
|---|---|---|
| Standing mission clear bonus | 2,000pt = ¥2,000 | Register through a referral, then have 5,000pt or more of offers approved |
| Campaign top-up (as checked on 12 August 2026) | +1,000pt | Register through a referral during August 2026 and meet the condition above by the end of October 2026 |
| Total | 3,000pt = ¥3,000 | The standing and campaign portions are credited separately |
From registration to cash-out
- Open the registration screen from the referral linkUse the button below this article. Opening it via the referral URL puts the referral code into the registration form — I checked the form contents directly.
- Register with an email addressThe screen also offers social accounts, but whether a social sign-up preserves the referral is not confirmable from public information. Use an email address to be certain.
- Plan the 5,000pt of approvals firstThat is the only condition for the bonus. Meeting it with a card or account you actually wanted anyway wastes nothing.
- Read each offer’s conditions to the endPoint Town shows conditions without logging in. Requirements such as “card must be received” or “within 45 days” are stated per offer, so decide first whether you can meet them.
- Choose your exit by the feeRakuten Bank is 100pt = ¥100 with no fee. Other banks are 550pt = ¥500, taking 50pt. Rakuten points and WAON POINT are one-for-one; PayPay, nanaco and Ponta take 5%. The same points are worth different amounts depending on the exit you pick.
The real strength is the exit — I checked every destination
Point sites are always discussed in terms of earning, but the difference is made at the exit. The same 1,000 points leaves you with different amounts depending on where you convert it. I opened Point Town’s exchange list and wrote down the main destinations.
| Destination | Minimum | Fee | Completion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon gift card | 100pt = ¥100 | free | Real-time for Gold and above; next business day otherwise |
| Rakuten Bank | 100pt = ¥100 | free | — |
| Japan Post, MUFG, Mizuho, SMBC, Resona | 550pt = ¥500 | 50pt | 3–5 business days |
| Rakuten Point Gift | 500pt = 500 points | free | Real-time |
| WAON POINT eGift | 500pt = 500 points | free | Real-time |
| d POINT | 100pt = 100 points | free | Real-time for Gold and above; ~3 business days otherwise |
| PayPay Money Lite | 500pt = ¥475 | 5% | Real-time |
| nanaco Gift / Ponta point code | 500pt = 475 | 5% | — |
| Apple Gift Card / Google Play / Edy Gift ID / WebMoney / au PAY / V-Preca / DMM / Uber Eats / Visa eGift vanilla / Skylark vouchers / Bitcoin | 100–500pt | free | — |
| ANA miles | 350pt = 100 miles | free | Cut off month-end, ~10 business days later |
| JAL miles | 1,250pt = 500 miles | free | Cut off month-end, ~5 business days later |
| Donations (Kumamoto earthquake relief, ChildFund) | 1pt = ¥1 | free | Real-time |
| Toranoko (investing) | 5pt = ¥5 | free | — |
Membership ranks — up to 15% on top
Point Town has six ranks, and your rank adds a percentage on top of what you earn. Ranks are assessed on the past six months and updated on the 5th of each month.
| Rank | Approvals | Points earned | Service / survey bonus | Rank renewal bonus (coins) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Regular | — | — | 0% | 100 coins |
| Bronze | — | 500 | 3% | 200 coins |
| Silver | 3 | 800 | 5% | 400 coins |
| Gold | 5 | 1,000 | 8% | 500 coins |
| Platinum | 8 | 3,000 | 10% | 600 coins |
| Diamond | 10 | 5,000 | 15% | 700 coins |
c-coin-label. Coins convert to points automatically once you hold 100 of them, but the coin-to-point rate is not stated anywhere on the public pages. In other words, those figures cannot be converted straight into yen. The rank benefits you can price with confidence are the percentage-based service and survey bonuses.
The point guarantee — exactly when it applies
Going through a link and getting nothing is the most common problem in point earning. Point Town has run a point guarantee scheme since November 2014. The conditions are strictly defined, so it is worth knowing them precisely.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Covered | Offers whose detail page carries the guarantee-eligible mark |
| Condition | The action appears in your pending points and the stated reflection period has passed |
| Required | You must present the purchase confirmation or statement. No proof, no guarantee |
| Not covered | Offers conditional on a first purchase only, and anything before 21 November 2014 |
| How to claim | Only through the dedicated guarantee form. The ordinary contact form does not qualify |
| Note | The reflection period runs not from purchase but from events such as payment, and varies by offer. Yahoo! Shopping can take up to about six months |
How much you can actually earn — offers are readable before you join
Point Town shows offers and their conditions without logging in. These were checked on 12 August 2026; where an offer was boosted, the normal rate is shown alongside.
| Offer | Qualifying condition | Points | In yen |
|---|---|---|---|
| SBI Securities | New account opened | 17,000pt (normally 9,565pt) | ¥17,000 |
| Mitsubishi UFJ Card | New card issued (card must be received, within 45 days of applying) | 12,000pt (normally 8,000pt) | ¥12,000 |
| Rakuten Gold Card | New card issued (card must arrive, applied within 24 hours of the click) | 4,000pt | ¥4,000 |
| PayPay Card | New card issued | 1,500pt | ¥1,500 |
| Rakuten Mobile | — | 0pt | ¥0 |
Earning for free
Point Town has the usual free-earning set.
| Content | Details |
|---|---|
| Gacha | Daily. Holding Gold or above for six consecutive months also unlocks the premium gacha |
| Stamp rally | Five stamps a day earns the daily reward; seven days in a row earns the weekly one. Rewards rise with rank (daily 5–100 coins, weekly 25–500 coins) |
| Surveys | Point Town Research qualifies for the rank-based survey bonus |
| Point Q / brain training quiz / Nazotore MAXXX | Quiz formats |
| Casual and full games | Free games pay in coins |
| Receipts (tentame) and mystery shopping (Fancrew) | Shopping receipts and store visits. Excluded from rank assessment |
| Email clicks | Points for clicking the mail you receive |
Compared with the other six sites
This blog covers Moppy, Hapitas, Powl, Chobirich, Point Income and Gendama in the same depth. Lined up across seven, Point Town’s character is clear.

Steps and tips for earning efficiently
1. Work backwards from the 5,000pt of approvals
The only condition on the 2,000pt bonus is 5,000pt or more of approved offers. Stacking that up from games and surveys is unrealistic, so clear it in one go with a card or account you were going to open anyway.
2. Check whether a boost is running
Referral campaigns run repeatedly (2× in June 2026, 1.5× in August). Offers themselves also show a “points up” flag with a countdown. If your application is not urgent, waiting for a boost changes the number.
3. Decide your exit before you earn
Rakuten points and WAON POINT are one-for-one and Rakuten Bank starts at ¥100 with no fee, while PayPay, nanaco and Ponta take 5% and other banks take 50pt. Decide the exit before you accumulate, not after.
4. Aim for Gold
Five approvals and 1,000pt over six months. Past that you get real-time exchange and an 8% bonus. Only offers tagged “rank-up eligible” count toward the assessment, so check the tag before applying.
5. Compare large one-off offers against other referral routes
Cards, mobile plans and brokerage accounts are large enough that going outside a point site is sometimes better — Rakuten Mobile pays nothing here at all. Examples covered on this blog:
- Rakuten Mobile employee referral (14,000pt for MNP, 11,000pt for a new line)
- Marriott Bonvoy American Express Premium (111,000 points via referral)
- American Express Gold Preferred (referral sign-up bonus)
- Rakuten Card guide — 11,000pt via referral, or 31,000pt alongside Rakuten Mobile
Things to watch out for
| Watch out for | Details |
|---|---|
| The bonus is not immediate | The condition is 5,000pt of approvals; payment lands by the end of the month after you clear it |
| Some exits shrink your balance | PayPay, nanaco Gift and Ponta codes take 5%; banks other than Rakuten take 50pt |
| Real-time exchange needs Gold | And it carries a monthly cap, after which requests revert to normal |
| Ranks fall | Assessed over six months. Free content, receipts and mystery shopping do not count |
| The guarantee covers marked offers only | And requires the action to already appear in pending points, plus proof of purchase |
| Expiry | 365 days from your last earning (180 for app members), or 365 days without a login |
| Rakuten Mobile pays zero | Officially stated. Going through the link achieves nothing |
| Social sign-up is unclear | The referral URL fills the code into the form, but whether a social sign-up keeps it is not confirmable publicly. Use email to be safe |
The same offer pays differently on different sites
As the comparison section showed, the seven sites are built differently. Rates differ per offer and change daily. The Mitsubishi UFJ Card came out at ¥12,000 across five sites, while SBI Securities was ¥17,000 here against ¥24,000 on Moppy.
To make that check easy every time, I run Pointnavi, a site that compares point-site rates side by side. Search an offer name and you can see several sites’ rates together.
If you want to know how it works first, see the complete Pointnavi guide.
For the record, it is fine if Point Town does not come out on top. Building the habit of one cross-check before you apply is what pays off in the long run.
Who it suits and who it doesn’t
Suits: living in the Rakuten ecosystem
500pt → 500 Rakuten points, one-for-one, and fee-free Rakuten Bank payouts from ¥100.
Suits: collecting miles
Both ANA (350pt → 100 miles) and JAL (1,250pt → 500 miles) convert directly.
Suits: cashing out little and often
The practical minimum is 100pt = ¥100, the lowest of the seven.
Suits: caring who runs the site
GMO Media, listed on TSE Growth, JIPC member, ISMS certified.
Doesn’t suit: earning only from free content
It counts for neither the ranks nor the sign-up bonus. For free earning, use Gendama.
Doesn’t suit: wanting a rank that never drops
Six-month assessment means it falls. For ranks that hold, use Point Income.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I use a Point Town referral code?
- Open the registration screen through the referral URL from the button in this article and the code is already filled into the form. I checked the form contents directly. The screen also offers registration with a social account, but whether the referral survives that route is not confirmable from public information, so use an email address if you want to be certain.
- How large is the Point Town sign-up bonus?
- Register through a referral and have 5,000 points or more of offers approved, and the standing mission clear bonus is 2,000 points, or 2,000 yen. At the time of writing on 12 August 2026 a 1.5 times campaign was running, adding a further 1,000 points for 3,000 in total. These boost campaigns run repeatedly, so check the official announcements before registering. Payment arrives by the end of the month following the one in which you clear the mission.
- How much is a Point Town point worth?
- One point equals one yen, the same as Moppy at 1P to the yen and Hapitas and Chobirich at 1pt to the yen. Powl, Point Income and Gendama use ten points to the yen, so drop a zero only when comparing against those three.
- What is the minimum Point Town cash-out?
- The official guide says one point, meaning one yen. Checking the exchange list itself, however, the only destinations that accept a single point are donations. For cash or gift cards the practical floor is 100 points, which covers the Amazon gift card, Rakuten Bank, WebMoney, the au PAY gift card and d POINT.
- Does Point Town charge exchange fees?
- It depends on the destination. The Amazon gift card, Rakuten Bank, Rakuten Point Gift and WAON POINT eGift are free. PayPay Money Lite, nanaco Gift and Ponta point codes take five percent, so 500 points becomes 475 yen. Bank transfers other than Rakuten Bank are 550 points for 500 yen, meaning 50 points go on the fee.
- Can I convert Point Town points to Rakuten points?
- Yes, and at parity: 500 points become 500 Rakuten points, with no fee and in real time. Converting from Hapitas costs 130 points for 100, losing more than a fifth, so Point Town is clearly better if you collect Rakuten points.
- Can I earn airline miles with Point Town?
- Yes. ANA Mileage Club takes 350 points for 100 miles and JAL Mileage Bank takes 1,250 points for 500 miles, both without a fee. Among the seven sites compared in this article, only Moppy and Point Town convert directly to both ANA and JAL.
- How do Point Town membership ranks work?
- Your rank for the following month is set by the past six months of activity and updates on the 5th. Silver needs three approvals and 800 points, Gold five approvals and 1,000 points, and Diamond ten approvals and 5,000 points. Only offers tagged as rank-up eligible are counted, so receipts, mystery shopping and free content do not add up. Note also that the stamp rally and rank renewal rewards are paid in coins rather than points, and the coin-to-point rate is not published.
- Do Point Town ranks drop?
- They do. Because the assessment covers the past six months, a quiet stretch pulls your rank down, the same as Chobirich. Point Income sets ranks by lifetime points so they never fall, which may suit you better if your usage is uneven.
- When does the Point Town guarantee apply?
- It applies when the offer page carries the guarantee mark, the action already appears in your pending points, and the stated reflection period has passed without the points arriving. You must present a purchase confirmation or statement, and offers conditional on a first purchase only are excluded. Claims go through the dedicated guarantee form; the ordinary contact form does not qualify.
- Who operates Point Town?
- GMO Media, Inc. It is based in the Cerulean Tower in Sakuragaoka, Shibuya, Tokyo, was founded on 13 October 2000, has capital of 761.97 million yen, and is led by president Teruyuki Mori. It trades under ticker 6180 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth market, belongs to the Japan Internet Point Council, and holds ISMS certification for information security.
- Which pays more, Point Town or Moppy?
- It depends on the offer. On 12 August 2026 the Mitsubishi UFJ Card was worth 12,000 yen on both, but SBI Securities paid 17,000 yen on Point Town against 24,000 on Moppy. Rather than ranking the sites, cross-check each offer immediately before you apply.
- Can I sign up for Rakuten Mobile through Point Town?
- The offer is listed but pays zero points. The page states plainly that using it earns no Point Town points. If you want Rakuten Mobile, the employee referral route covered on this blog is better, paying 14,000 points for a number transfer and 11,000 for a new line.

Summary
Point Town is not the site that always pays most — SBI Securities was ¥7,000 behind Moppy. It is still worth using because three things are clearly different here.
Three reasons to choose Point Town
- The exits are strong — one-for-one Rakuten points, fee-free Rakuten Bank payouts from ¥100, and direct ANA and JAL conversion. What you earn does not shrink on the way out
- A ¥2,000 sign-up bonus — one condition only, 5,000pt of approvals, and boost campaigns run repeatedly
- Run by GMO Media, listed on TSE Growth — JIPC member, ISMS certified, and easy to verify
The one exception: do not apply for Rakuten Mobile through Point Town. It officially pays zero. Use the employee referral instead.
One last thing. Before you apply, look at what the other point sites pay. Some offers, like the Mitsubishi UFJ Card, are identical across five sites; others, like SBI Securities, differ by ¥7,000. Use Pointnavi, which I run, or the articles on Moppy, Hapitas, Powl, Chobirich, Point Income and Gendama. That single extra step is the most reliably useful habit in point earning.
