Key takeawaysTama’s autumn calendar pairs foliage light-ups with sake, local festivals and a former-railway walk. Showa Kinen Park lights its ginkgo avenues and Japanese Garden through November 29, while Hagiyama Park’s 100-plus maples glow from November 28. Other dates need attention: Fussa’s brewery opening is November 7 only, and railway-walk applications close November 15 at 17:00.

Information checked against the supplied announcement as of .

For an autumn evening in western Tokyo, start with Showa Kinen Park’s illuminated ginkgo avenues or the later-season maple light-up at Hagiyama Park in Kodaira. Tama’s calendar also includes a sake brewery event in Fussa, neighborhood festivals and a guided walk along a former railway.

The dates matter: Fussa’s brewery event is on November 7, applications for the railway walk close on November 15, and Hagiyama Park’s lights do not begin until November 28. Here is how the outings fit together.

The Hagiyama Park Autumn Light-Up (萩山公園ライトアップ ~きらめく紅葉につつまれて~) centers on more than 100 Japanese maple trees. It is a good option if you want your evening to revolve around the foliage itself.

There will be no food trucks this year because the park is undergoing renovation. Plan meals separately from your visit.

The Autumn Foliage Festival & Autumn Night Walk (黄葉・紅葉まつり&秋の夜散歩2026) runs through November 29 at Showa Kinen Park. Its night-time scenery was recognized in the illumination category of the Japan Night View Heritage program on October 9, 2026.

There are three distinct areas to consider. The Katarai Ginkgo Avenue has 98 trees along approximately 300 meters, with lighting coordinated to music. The Japanese Garden has around 300 maple trees, pond reflections, traditional paper umbrellas and lanterns. Near the Tachikawa entrance, the Canal area combines illuminated ginkgo trees with fountains and waterways.
