Amazon Japan “Weekly Prime Point Up”: Enter Each Week for +1% on ¥12,000+ (Until Nov 2)

Since Tuesday, October 20, Amazon Japan has been running a weekly entry campaign called “今週のおトクなプライムポイントアップ” (roughly, “this week’s Prime point up”). Enter on the campaign page, and once your purchases that week reach ¥12,000 (tax included), Prime members get +1% extra points. Selected brands sold by Amazon.co.jp get another +5%. It runs for two weeks until Monday, November 2, with a cap of 2,000 points per week.

Unlike Prime Day or the Prime Thanksgiving sale, this one is promoted quietly, so it is easy to miss. Here is what the page looked like after we entered on October 23:

How it works: +1% on ¥12,000 a week

The key points from the rules:

  • Campaign period: Tue Oct 20, 2026 0:00 – Mon Nov 2, 23:59 (JST)
  • Two weeks: week 1 is Oct 20–26, week 2 is Oct 27–Nov 2. Entry and totals are counted separately each week
  • Conditions: enter that week, be a Prime member that week, and spend ¥12,000 or more (tax included) that week
  • Bonus: +1.0% for Prime members; +5.0% on “Brand Selection” items
  • Cap: 2,000 points per week (limited-time points)

In short, it takes the usual “enter + spend + Prime bonus” formula and runs it week by week. You do not need to wait for a big sale—your everyday shopping gets an extra 1%.

Check your own campaign page first

The most important line is at the top of the page: “適用に必要なお買い物金額はお客様によって異なります“—the required spending differs by customer. The rules also say rates and eligible items may vary. Our account showed ¥12,000 with Kérastase and L’Oréal as the +5% brands, but yours may be different.

After logging in, check three places on the campaign page:

  • The amount at the right end of the progress bar = your weekly threshold
  • “基本のポイントアップ方法” = your base bonus (ours: +1.0% for Prime members)
  • “+5.0%ポイントアップブランド” = your featured brands

Once entered, the bar shows your total for the week (合計購入金額) and how many days are left. When you meet the condition, a green “達成” (achieved) appears next to +1.0%.

Enter every week (late entry within the week is fine)

Entering is simple: log in, open the campaign page and press the entry button (エントリー). It turns into a green “エントリー済み” (entered). Two things to remember:

  1. Enter again every week. Entries and conditions reset every Tuesday at 0:00. Even if you entered in week 1, you need to press the button again for week 2 starting October 27.
  2. Purchases made earlier in the same week still count. The official FAQ says that if you enter during the week, purchases that week count “before or after entry”.
FAQ on the rules page: purchases made before entry count if you enter during the same shopping period
FAQ on the rules page: within the same week, purchases made before entry also count (red box added by us)

After you enter, eligible product pages show “エントリー済み 今週のおトクなプライムポイントアップ開催中(諸条件あり)” below the price—a handy way to confirm you are in.

The second line, “アカウント連携済み 5,000円以上のお買い物でdポイント”, is an ongoing campaign for people who have linked d POINT with Amazon—separate from this point-up. If you have not linked yet, see our d POINT × Amazon guide.

How many points? A quick table

The rules say the rate goes up with each condition you meet, so regular items get +1% and featured-brand items sold by Amazon get +1% plus +5%. Using our account’s conditions (¥12,000 threshold, +1% for Prime, +5% for brands), here is a rough estimate for one week:

Total that weekOf which featured brands (sold by Amazon)Extra points (approx.)
¥11,999—0 (below the threshold)
¥12,000¥0120 points
¥30,000¥0300 points
¥30,000¥10,000800 points (¥20,000×1% + ¥10,000×6%)
¥200,000¥02,000 points (weekly cap)

Worth keeping in mind:

  • One yen short means zero. The threshold is judged on the weekly total.
  • Regular items hit the cap at ¥200,000 a week. 2,000 points is 1% of ¥200,000.
  • These points are on top of the usual ones. The “ポイント” shown on product pages are your regular points; the campaign bonus is granted separately.
  • Your own campaign page is the final word on your rate, since the rules say it can differ by customer.

+5% brands: only items sold by Amazon.co.jp

The +5% “point-up brands” come with one strict rule: only items both shipped and sold by Amazon.co.jp qualify (note ※3 in the rules). The same brand bought from a marketplace seller does not get +5%. Before ordering, check “出荷元 / 販売元 Amazon.co.jp” on the right side of the product page.

Point conditions in the campaign rules: login, entry and ¥12,000 total required; +1.0% for Prime members; +5.0% for Brand Selection; exclusions; +5% only for items sold and shipped by Amazon.co.jp
“Point conditions” in the rules. ① Period ② Required conditions ③ +1% and +5% ④ Exclusions (incl. some designated Sony-brand products) ⑤ +5% only for items sold and shipped by Amazon.co.jp (red boxes added by us)

On our account, the +5% brands were two hair-care lines. Tapping a brand logo on the campaign page opens a list filtered to items sold by Amazon.co.jp:

Note that the campaign page labels the second brand “ロレアルパリ” (L’Oréal Paris), but the logo and link actually go to the salon line, L’Oréal Professionnel—a different range from the L’Oréal Paris products sold at drugstores. Going in through the logo is the safest way. If you already use these brands, these two weeks are a good time to restock.

What does not count

The following do not count toward the ¥12,000 and earn no campaign points:

  • Amazon gift cards
  • Subscription fees such as Kindle Unlimited, Prime Video, Amazon Music Prime and Audible, and Prime membership fees
  • In-app purchases through the Amazon app, Amazon Pharmacy, Amazon Furusato Nozei
  • Pre-orders, fees and shipping, gift wrapping
  • Some excluded items (the rules mention “some designated Sony-brand products”; check the product page)
Notes at the bottom of the campaign page: subscription fees, Amazon gift cards, in-app purchases, Amazon Pharmacy, furusato nozei, Prime fees, fees and shipping, gift wrapping and pre-orders are excluded
Exclusions at the bottom of the campaign page (red box added by us)

On the other hand, time-sale items, marketplace sellers’ items and Subscribe & Save (定期おトク便) orders do count (marketplace items get only the +1%, not the +5%).

Coupons, points and gift card balance

  • Coupons: counted at the discounted amount. In the official example, a ¥10,000 item with a ¥1,000 coupon counts as ¥9,000. Using a coupon on an order right at ¥12,000 can push you below the threshold.
  • Points or gift card balance: counted in full. Paying 1,000 points does not reduce the eligible amount.
FAQ on the rules page: coupons count at the discounted amount; amounts paid with points or gift card balance count; buying Amazon gift cards themselves does not
FAQ on the rules page. ① Coupons count at the discounted amount ② Amounts paid with points or gift card balance count (red boxes added by us)

If you have points about to expire, using them during these two weeks will not hurt your total.

When points arrive and when they expire

The campaign points do not arrive right after you order:

  1. Within a few days after the campaign ends (Nov 2): they show up as pending points (獲得予定ポイント) on your My Points page
  2. About 40 days after the end: they are confirmed and become usable
  3. Expiry: limited-time points, valid until the end of the month after confirmation
Bottom of the campaign page: 2,000-point cap, pending points within a few days after the campaign ends and confirmed about 40 days later, expiry at the end of the month after confirmation
① 2,000-point cap ② Timing of grant and confirmation ③ Expiry (red boxes added by us)

About 40 days after November 2 is mid-December. If your points are confirmed in December, they will be usable until January 31, 2027 (the rules give the same example: confirmed Dec 1 → valid until Jan 31). Check the exact date on your My Points page. Limited-time points are used first at checkout, so they fit naturally into your year-end shopping.

Five tips so you do not miss out

  1. Enter on Tuesday morning. It costs nothing, so enter first and nothing you buy later that week will be missed. Week 2 starts Tuesday, October 27.
  2. If both weeks together come to less than ¥24,000, do it all in one week. The threshold is weekly, so ¥10,000 each week qualifies for neither.
  3. Reach ¥12,000 with detergent, tissues or cases of drinks. Bringing forward things you will buy anyway is painless; the campaign page even suggests everyday essentials. Subscribe & Save orders count too.
  4. Skip coupons right at the ¥12,000 line. Paying with points or balance does not reduce the total.
  5. If week 1 is about to pass ¥200,000, move non-urgent items to week 2. Regular items hit the weekly cap (2,000 points) at ¥200,000.

If you pay with an Amazon Mastercard, the card’s regular points are added as usual and do not count toward the 2,000-point cap. For the card’s sign-up offer, see our Amazon Prime Mastercard guide.

Watch out for: cancellations, returns, Prime status

Notes on the rules page: pending points and confirmation, purchases before entry included, 2,000-point cap per period, marketplace and Subscribe & Save orders included
Notes on the rules page. ① Grant timing ② Purchases before entry count ③ 2,000-point weekly cap ④ Marketplace and Subscribe & Save orders count (red boxes added by us)
  • Cancellations and returns are deducted. If that pushes your weekly total below the threshold, you lose that week’s points entirely.
  • Do not cancel Prime before the points are confirmed. You need a paid membership on the confirmation date (around mid-December). If you joined on a free trial, keep it until then. Our Amazon Prime Japan guide covers the benefits and fees.
  • The cap is 2,000 points per week, up to 4,000 across both weeks.
  • Do not rely on the cart meter. The official FAQ says some eligible items may not show up in it; check your actual total on the campaign page.
  • Amazon may change or end the campaign without notice. Check the rules on the campaign page for the latest conditions.

The Prime Thanksgiving sale (Oct 13–19) also had an entry-based point-up, but it was a separate campaign with different conditions. See our Prime Thanksgiving sale guide, and our Amazon deals category for daily updates.

FAQ

Q. Do purchases made before I entered count?
Yes, within the same week. The official FAQ says purchases in that week count whether made before or after entry. You cannot carry purchases over to the next week.
Q. Do I need to enter for both weeks?
Yes. Entries and conditions reset every Tuesday at 0:00, so enter again on the campaign page from Tuesday, October 27.
Q. Is the ¥12,000 threshold the same for everyone?
No. The campaign page says the required amount differs by customer. Our account showed ¥12,000—log in and check yours.
Q. Do marketplace sellers’ items count?
Unless stated otherwise, yes: they count toward the ¥12,000 total and the +1%. The +5% only applies to items both shipped and sold by Amazon.co.jp.
Q. Do Amazon gift cards count?
No. Subscription fees, pre-orders and Prime membership fees do not count either.
Q. Does paying with points or gift card balance reduce my total?
No—those amounts count in full. Coupons, however, count at the discounted amount, which can push an order right at ¥12,000 below the threshold.
Q. Can I join during a Prime free trial?
Yes. But you need to be a paid member on the points confirmation date (about 40 days after the campaign ends), or the Prime bonus will not become usable.
Q. What is the maximum?
2,000 points per week, so up to 4,000 points across both weeks (regular Amazon Mastercard points are not counted toward this cap).
Q. When can I use the points?
A few days after the campaign ends (Nov 2) they appear as pending points, and about 40 days later they are confirmed. They are limited-time points valid until the end of the month after confirmation.
