Grand Front Osaka Christmas: Light Shows and Disney

Grand Front Osaka (グランフロント大阪), right by JR Osaka Station, will host GRAND WISH CHRISTMAS 2026 from November 4 to December 25, 2026. The main attraction is Evergreen Forest Tree: a Christmas installation that combines trees of different heights with music, falling light and floral and woody scents. Disney photo spots and a stamp rally add more reasons to explore the surrounding area.

The key to planning your visit is that the indoor tree show and the outdoor illuminations follow different schedules. The tree runs until Christmas Day; the street lights continue through February 28, 2027.

Dates, show times and access

Head to Knowledge Plaza (ナレッジプラザ) on the first floor of the North Building for the main tree. Other Christmas attractions are spread across the North Building, South Building and Umekita Plaza (うめきた広場).

Needing no reservation does not mean an attraction is free, so check the official information for fees and the terms of individual activities.

Inside the illuminated forest

Evergreen Forest Tree is designed to be viewed both as a whole and up close. A large central tree stands among smaller trees with different shapes, while overhead light creates the effect of snow falling through the forest. Floral notes and woody scents are part of the installation, alongside the music and lighting.

The light show runs every 15 minutes during the advertised hours. If you want to catch a performance, arrive before one of the quarter-hour start times, and don’t assume midnight is the last show: 23:45 is the final performance each day.

The design and staging are by VELVETA DESIGN (ベルベッタ・デザイン), with music credited to Sho Tatsuta and scent design by @aroma (アットアロマ株式会社). The images show proposed lighting effects, rather than photographs of the completed installation.

Disney Gift of Story

Disney Gift of Story runs from November 4 to December 25 across Grand Front Osaka and Grand Green Osaka (グラングリーン大阪). Plans include photo spots, special decorations, a character stamp rally and a temporary pop-up store.

Outdoor lights continue through February

Champagne Gold Illumination in UMEKITA runs from November 4, 2026 to February 28, 2027, daily from 17:00 to midnight. This is the part of the winter programme to keep in mind if you visit after Christmas.

Approximately 510,000 LED bulbs across 156 decorated trees will light the combined Grand Front Osaka and Grand Green Osaka area. Locations include the surroundings of Umekita Plaza and the zelkova and ginkgo avenues, with this edition expanding into Umekita Park’s North Park and the ginkgo-mall area of Umekita Green Place.

The outdoor lights can follow a visit to the indoor tree. From November 5 onward, a weekday visit around 16:00 allows time for a tree show before the street lights switch on at 17:00. On opening day, reverse that order if you wish: the outdoor lights begin at 17:00, while the tree show starts at 18:30.

Santa parade and evening plans

Grand Santa Parade in UMEKITA is scheduled for December 22, 2026. People who work in or visit the area dress as Santa and take part in a parade, gift distribution and cleanup activities.

Last year’s parade brought together approximately 650 Santas; that is a past attendance figure, not a confirmed number for this year. Details and recruitment are scheduled to be announced in early November, so anyone hoping to join should look out for the participation notice.
