KFC Japan and Uma Musume Launch a Five-Senses Collaboration

Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan (President: Atsushi Nashima, Head Office: Yokohama, Kanagawa) will run the Uma Musume no Uma Uma! Kentucky! campaign at KFC restaurants nationwide from August 12 (Wed) through September 30 (Wed), 2026, in collaboration with the hugely popular game Uma Musume Pretty Derby.

Uma Musume features charming characters named after real racehorses, and every past KFC tie-up has drawn a huge response. This time the theme is Kentucky enjoyed with all five senses – sight, sound, smell, taste and touch – across both real-world and digital touchpoints.

Taste and Smell: KFC’s First-Ever Original Collaboration Menu

Two original collaboration sets will be sold in limited quantities, exclusively through KFC Net Order. For the first time in the history of KFC Japan’s content collaborations, brand-new menu items were developed specifically around the source material – including products built around carrots, the Uma Musume characters’ favorite food, and a dish that appears in the story itself.

Part 1: Uma Musume no Uma Uma! Kobu-Mayo Dip Set (from August 12)

  • Price: 1,500 yen (tax included)
  • Contents: 2 pieces of Original Recipe Chicken, Fries (S), Colonel’s Crispy, Uma Uma Kobu-Mayo Dip Sauce, and a serial code for in-game items
  • On sale: August 12 (Wed) – August 25 (Tue)

The Uma Uma Kobu-Mayo Dip Sauce is tinted a carrot-inspired orange. Deep garlic umami combined with spicy heat makes it an excellent match for both chicken and fries.

Part 2: Uma Musume no Uma Uma! Carrot Occhahoi Set (from September 9)

  • Price: 1,500 yen (tax included)
  • Contents: 2 pieces of Original Recipe Chicken, Fries (S), Colonel’s Crispy, Carrot Occhahoi Shake Spice, and a serial code for in-game items
  • On sale: September 9 (Wed) – September 30 (Wed)

The Carrot Occhahoi Shake Spice is inspired by the carrot occhahoi mentioned in character dialogue in the film Uma Musume Pretty Derby: Beginning of a New Era. Punchy garlic aroma and a peppery black-pepper kick give it a bold flavor. Shake it in the bag with fries or Colonel’s Crispy, or dip your Original Recipe Chicken into it – however you like it best.

According to the product development team, the original collaboration items took roughly a year to develop. For the dip sauce, color was the biggest challenge, with repeated adjustments until it reached the right carrot orange. Occhahoi is a regional dish from Niigata Prefecture with a complex flavor that blends Southeast Asian ethnic notes with Japanese elements such as soy sauce and garlic, and reproducing that profile in a shake spice required extensive research and testing.

Both sets come in special-design packaging, featuring eight characters including Buena Vista and Red Desire drawn in the style of the Colonel Sanders logo. The back of the box carries a message from Colonel Gorushi – self-appointed Uma Musume PR representative Gold Ship dressed as Colonel Sanders. The sauce and spice packages also get Uma Musume-themed designs.

Sight and Touch: Newly Drawn Illustration Goods

Every purchase of one collaboration set comes with one newly drawn illustration item.

  • Part 1: Collaboration-exclusive trading cards (18 types) – nine normal cards covering eight characters plus a group shot, and nine rare cards with printed voice-cast signatures plus a group shot
  • Part 2: Collaboration-exclusive can badges (8 types)

Note: the group-shot rare card does not carry a printed cast signature. Goods are distributed in stores only, at random, and cannot be chosen.

Digital: Serial Codes for In-Game Rewards

Everyone who buys a collaboration set receives a serial code redeemable for in-game items:

  • SSR Support Card [Gabutto, Egao ni] Red Desire, a special design featuring Red Desire, Buena Vista and Colonel Gorushi
  • Recovery item KFC Crispy & Dip Sauce x2 (Part 1)
  • Recovery item KFC Fries & Shake Spice x2 (Part 2)

Players who complete in-game missions can also obtain the KFC Goodwill Ambassador Gorushi outfit, wearable only by Gold Ship.

Prize Draw: 373 Winners via the Stamp Card Campaign

An Uma Musume-themed stamp card appears in the KFC Net Order app. Each collaboration set purchased earns one stamp, and from the 97th stamp onward the design changes to a different original stamp. The number of stamps collected determines which draws you can enter:

  • 1 stamp: Collaboration-exclusive illustration strap (8 types, 40 each, 320 winners)
  • 3 stamps: Collaboration visual diorama acrylic stand (50 winners)
  • 8 stamps: Collaboration visual board with hand-written cast autographs

Note: each set purchased grants one entry.

Sound: KFC’s First Original Collaboration Song, Gabutto!

To mark the tie-up, KFC has produced its first original collaboration song, Gabutto!, performed by the eight Uma Musume characters featured in the key visual. During the campaign it plays as in-store BGM at select KFC locations, streams on services including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music and YouTube Music, and is added to the Uma Uta Jukebox on the game’s home screen.

Sight and Touch: KFC Sagamihara Onodai Store Gets an Uma Musume Makeover

KFC Sagamihara Onodai, which reopened in April 2026 as a next-generation model store, will be wrapped in Uma Musume artwork for the campaign period. The exterior uses designs drawn specially for this collaboration, while inside, panels of the eight characters from the key visual are displayed and the walls and pillars carry special designs – making it a standout photo spot. The campaign key visual itself is set at this store, showing the Uma Musume characters in red-and-white KFC colors.

Wrapped Store Details

  • Store: KFC Sagamihara Onodai
