Yokohama VIVRE Halloween Greeting on Oct 31: Horror Cast and Free Sweets

Key Takeaways: On Saturday, October 31, 2026, doll-like horror performers roam Yokohama VIVRE in Nishi-ku, handing out Halloween sweets to anyone who says the passphrase “Bibuharo!” Entry is free and no booking is needed, but the event runs only in four slots between 14:00 and 18:15, and sweets end when they run out. An earlier slot is the safer bet.
On Halloween day itself, Saturday, October 31, 2026, the Yokohama VIVRE (横浜ビブレ) shopping building in Nishi-ku, Yokohama, is running a free in-store event called Halloween Greeting (ハロウィン・グリーティング). Small, doll-like horror performers will roam the building, and if you say the event’s passphrase to one of them, you get Halloween sweets. There’s no fee and no booking — the only catch is that the sweets end when they run out.

What the Halloween Greeting is

The Halloween Greeting is one of the in-store programs in Yokohama VIVRE’s Halloween campaign, Bibuharo (ビブハロ). For Halloween day only, small performers dressed as eerie, doll-like characters appear around the building — at the Information counter and on the shop floors. The look is spooky but cute rather than gory haunted-house horror.

The building is home to several apparel shops centered on Lolita fashion, so the gothic doll theme fits the venue well. The program was planned and produced by horror producer Yozumi Anna (夜住アンナ) of BAKERU Inc., a Tokyo-based events and content company.

How to get the sweets

  1. Go to Yokohama VIVRE during one of the four time slots on October 31.
  2. Look for a performer at the Information counter or on one of the floors.
  3. Say the Bibuharo passphrase. The event visual shows it as ビブハロ! — pronounced “Bibuharo!”
  4. Receive your Halloween sweets.
💡 You don’t need to speak Japanese beyond that one word. Since the sweets are first come, first served, it’s safer not to leave it to the last slot.

Yozumi Anna is a horror producer who has worked on haunted houses and horror events in the experiential entertainment industry. Her projects range from haunted houses and interactive horror events to immersive shows and online experiences, and she describes her style as “beautiful and scary” horror. One thing she emphasizes is making horror that people who normally avoid it can still enjoy. You can see more of her work on her official site.

The organizer, BAKERU Inc., is headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, and plans and runs place-based experiences, food, housing and creative projects.

Tips for the day and the Oct 24–25 candle event

  • Aim for an early slot. Sweets end when they’re gone, and the official notice gives no quantity.
  • Mind the gaps. There are breaks between slots, so check the clock before you head to a floor.
  • Come back the week before, too. As a separate Bibuharo program, Yozumi Anna is also running a horror-art candle scooping event (キャンドルすくい) on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25. Fees and times for that one weren’t in the announcement, so check the official Bibuharo page.
