Shin-Toyosu opens November 20. Shiba Park opens December 4. Both close for the season on December 25, 2026.
The Tokyo Christmas Market (東京クリスマスマーケット) is coming back this winter at two separate venues: Shin-Toyosu (新豊洲) by the waterfront, and Shiba Park (芝公園) near Tokyo Tower. On October 22, 2026, APAMAN Co., Ltd., which supports the event, unveiled this year’s key visual by graphic artist Kayo Horaguchi.
Below you will find the dates, opening hours, last entry times and access for each venue, plus a closer look at the artwork, which is split so that each venue gets one half.
Before you go: everything here is based on the October 22, 2026 announcement. The announcement asks visitors to check each venue’s official page for hours and access, and it does not mention admission fees or tickets. Please confirm on the official Tokyo Christmas Market site before heading out.
Dates and venues at a glance

Shin-Toyosu: the waterside market
Shin-Toyosu is the first to open, on Friday, November 20, and runs for about five weeks until Christmas Day. On the opening day the gates open at 16:00. From the next day on, the market runs from 11:00 to 21:30, with last entry at 20:30 and last food and drink orders at 21:00.
The venue is a 2-minute walk from Shin-Toyosu Station (新豊洲駅) on the Yurikamome line. If you enjoy events along Tokyo’s waterfront, our guide to the Shibaura Canal Festival and its free canal cruises covers another bay-area outing.

The Shin-Toyosu artwork is all deep blue. Stars and snowflakes sparkle in the night sky while fish drift through the air, a nod to the waterside setting. In the center stands a golden Christmas pyramid, surrounded by animals dressed up like characters from a fairy tale and plenty of colorful decorations.
Shiba Park: the forest market by Tokyo Tower
The Shiba Park venue is held at Onarimon Station Plaza (御成門駅前広場) and opens on Friday, December 4. The opening day starts at 16:00. After that, it runs from 11:00 to 22:00, with last entry at 21:00 and last orders at 21:30. That is half an hour later than Shin-Toyosu, which helps if you are coming after work.
Getting there is easy: the plaza is a 1-minute walk from Exit A6 of Onarimon Station (御成門駅) on the Toei Mita Line.

The Shiba Park artwork turns green. Tokyo Tower glows beyond the trees, and a big wreath and Christmas tree fill the forest. The same golden Christmas pyramid sits in the middle, this time ringed by nutcrackers, dressed-up animals, gingerbread men and bright ornaments. Small details are tucked between the trees and flowers, so it rewards a second look.
The key visual: two halves, one picture
This year’s key visual was created as a single artwork and then split in two. The left side became the Shin-Toyosu visual with its water theme, and the right side became the Shiba Park visual with its forest theme. Put the two side by side and they join back into one Christmas scene.

The artist says she drew in fine detail, right down to the inside of the little wooden huts (the market stalls often called Hütte). Her hope is that people pick out a favorite animal or motif and enjoy the wait for Christmas, imagining who they will go with before they even reach the venue.
About the artist, Kayo Horaguchi
Kayo Horaguchi (ホラグチカヨ) is a graphic artist. She worked as an apparel designer before going freelance as an illustrator and graphic designer. Her style mixes vivid colors with animals, plants and everyday objects combined in playful, dreamlike ways.
She has visited the Tokyo Christmas Market herself in the past and describes it as one of her favorite events, so designing this year’s visual was a personal one for her. You can see more of her work on her official website, on Instagram (@horaguchi_kayo) and on X (@kayohoraguchi).
Planning tips
- Opening days are evening only. On November 20 at Shin-Toyosu and December 4 at Shiba Park, the gates open at 16:00 instead of 11:00.
- Watch the last entry time, not the closing time. Entry ends an hour before closing (20:30 at Shin-Toyosu, 21:00 at Shiba Park), and food and drink orders stop 30 minutes before closing.
- Both venues overlap from December 4 to December 25. If you want to see both, plan within that window and check each venue’s times first.
- Fees are not in the announcement. Check the official site for any admission or ticket details before you go.
- Keep your phone charged for night photos. If your battery tends to die on long evenings out, our guide to free ChargeSPOT power bank rentals with d VALUE PASS may help.
