Starting Friday, November 6, 2026, all 10 Premium Outlets (プレミアム・アウトレット) centers in Japan run two things at the same time: a 10-day clearance called the PREMIUM OUTLETS® SALE, and a winter illumination that stays up until late February. If you need a new coat or a gift this winter, the sale is the best time to go. Stay until after sunset and you can see the lights on the same trip.

The sale: what’s discounted and where

The sale is timed for the start of cold weather. Expect winter staples such as outerwear and knitwear, plus homewares that make the house feel cozier. About 960 stores take part across the 10 centers.
The discount cap depends on the outlet. Sano, Ami and Rinku go up to 80% off, while the remaining seven go up to 70% off. Keep in mind that these are maximums: not every item will be at the top rate.
The organizer’s special sale page (premiumoutlets.co.jp/sp/pos_202611) goes live on Friday, October 30. Check it before the sale starts to see what your nearest center is offering.
The winter illuminations
Each center has its own theme, with Christmas trees, light displays and photo spots. The lights come on at sunset and stay on until closing, every day from November 6, 2026 to February 24, 2027. The Christmas decorations are taken down after December 25, so go before then if you want the trees in your photos.
Some of the numbers, for scale: Toki uses about 47,000 bulbs, Shisui about 33,000 and Tosu about 30,000. Gotemba and Kobe-Sanda both put up real fir trees of about 7 m.

Gotemba (Shizuoka)

Lights: SNOW FANTASIA. The center is split into three zones built around falling snow, a silver landscape and a deep snowy forest. The centerpiece is a real fir tree of about 7 m. Its lights change as you step up to the stage area, and some flicker like candles. The ornaments are recyclable paper art.
Events: Participating stores collect down products, such as comforters and down jackets, from Nov 6 to 15. The down is taken apart, cleaned and made into new products. There is a tie-up event with the Hakone Gora hot spring inn and hotel association on Nov 7, and Gotemba City runs the Gotemba Miryoku Hakken Fair (御殿場魅力発見フェア) on Nov 14 and 15.
Sano (Tochigi)

Lights: Bubbles of Light. Small points of light cover the center like bubbles, mostly in gold. New this year: a gate-shaped tree of about 6 m and a gobo projector that throws winter illustrations onto surfaces.
Events: Sanomaru, Sano City’s mascot, is scheduled to appear for a greeting with the lights on Sunday, Nov 8, from 18:00 to 18:30. Sano also hosts its first-ever collaboration fair with Lemon Milk (レモン牛乳), Tochigi’s well-known local drink, from Nov 6 to Mar 31, 2027. On Nov 14 and 15, the Sano Marutto Marche (佐野まるっとマルシェ) sells local souvenirs and farm produce, with another Sanomaru greeting planned.
Ami (Ibaraki)

Lights: A Home Christmas, styled like a scene from a Hollywood holiday movie. Near the middle of the center there’s a photo spot dressed as a front door at Christmas, and past it, a space set up like a home party.
Events: AMI Golf Fair runs Nov 6 to 15, with an outdoor market and hands-on activities from stores selling golf gear. Details of the receipt gift are in the perks table below.
Shisui (Chiba)
Lights: About 33,000 bulbs in champagne gold, with chandelier-style decorations meant to recall a luxury hotel at the holidays. A large tree and light sculptures stand in the galleria.
Food: Kuri no Kaoru (栗乃薫), a Mont Blanc shop that uses chestnuts from Kasama, sets up a food truck for a limited time. The chestnuts are aged for 30 days and piped into 1 mm strands, with a homemade meringue inside that’s baked for five hours.
Fukaya-Hanazono (Saitama)
Lights: BRIGHT FOREST. A walk-in Real Snow Dome sits in the center court this year, surrounded by trees and crystal motifs. There’s also a snowfall light effect and a wall fountain area where the lights reflect off the water.
Events: Stores sell B-grade and sample items. To mark the center’s 4th anniversary, there are fixed-price items themed on the number 4, and a purchase gift (see the perks table). The event page goes live on Oct 30.
Rinku (Osaka)

Lights: The Premium Winter, inspired by an American holiday season. Expect a tree of about 6 m in candy-pop colors, a glowing gazebo, and several photo spots around the center.
Events: An Instagram sunset photo contest runs Oct 10 to Nov 30. Post a sunset you saw at Rinku; the top prize and runner-up prizes are Premium Outlets shopping vouchers.
Kobe-Sanda (Hyogo)

Lights: Snowy Ribbon Story. The motif is the ribbon on a Christmas present, and champagne-gold light wraps the whole center as if it were one big gift. The galleria has a real fir tree of about 7 m with a large ribbon and light falling from the ceiling.
Events: A PO PAY lottery for app points during the sale. Conditions are in the perks table. The event page goes live on Oct 30.
Sendai-Izumi (Miyagi)
Lights: Fairy Tale Christmas, with aurora colors that shift as you change your viewing angle.
Events: A LINE stamp rally with the neighboring Izumi Park Town Tapio shopping center, Nov 6 to Dec 6. Conditions are in the perks table.
Toki (Gifu)
Lights: Holy Light Voyage. Warm champagne gold with about 47,000 bulbs, and a different color scheme in each zone. The main photo spot is a giant book sculpture that draws visitors in.
Food: The 4th Higashi-Mino Gohei-mochi Festival (東美濃五平餅まつり) takes place Nov 7 and 8, so you can compare versions of this grilled rice snack from across the region.
Tosu (Saga)
Lights: A tree of about 5 m with a gift-box photo spot underneath, and about 30,000 gold bulbs.
Getting there: On sale weekends, there are extra direct buses from Tenjin in Fukuoka, with no transfers. The Hasami and Arita outlet pottery market also runs during the sale, selling pieces with color variations or small marks from production.
Spend-based perks worth knowing
Four centers reward you for spending above a set amount. All amounts include tax, and receipts can be combined unless noted.
| Outlet | What you need | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Ami (Nov 6–15) | Receipts from 2+ golf gear stores, ¥30,000 or more in total, shown at the Information Center | Golf ball with the Ami logo (first 100 people) |
| Fukaya-Hanazono | Same-day receipts of ¥20,000 or more, shown at the Information Center | Bottle with handle, Fukka-chan design (while stocks last). Extra conditions add a sticker |

| Sendai-Izumi (Nov 6–Dec 6) | ¥1,000 or more at participating stores per stamp; LINE friend registration and other conditions apply | Entries into a lottery for shopping vouchers |
A few details from the fine print:
- Fukaya-Hanazono: limit one gift per person for the whole event, and it ends when the gifts run out.
- Kobe-Sanda: winners receive app points, up to ¥10,000 per person and ¥300,000 in total.
- Sendai-Izumi: stamps, and shopping at both centers, earn you entries into the voucher lottery.
Tips to get more out of the trip
- Pick your center by discount cap. If you’re within reach of Sano, Ami or Rinku, those three have the deepest cap at 80%.
- Go during Nov 6–15 and stay past sunset. That’s the only window where the sale and the lights overlap with the Christmas decorations in place.
- Look at the sale page from Oct 30. Plan which stores to hit before you arrive, especially at the larger centers.
- Clear out the closet first. Selling last year’s coat before you buy a new one cuts the real cost. If you haven’t used it yet, our Mercari guide with an invite code for ¥500 in points walks through it.
- Pay with a card that earns points. Big outlet purchases add up quickly. See which credit card to get first in Japan as a foreigner.
- Combine it with other outings. Our Asoview campaign roundup covers discounts on attractions if you’re planning a full day out.
- Not going in person? We track online deals daily on our Amazon Japan deals page.
