Free extras for visitors
- Limited-design towel for early arrivals. Visitors who arrive between 10:45 and 11:15 receive a tenugui, a thin Japanese cotton towel, printed with an Okutama Beer Fest 2026 design. The announcement describes it as a first-come gift, so the earlier you are inside that window, the safer.
- Discount pamphlet. A pamphlet with discounts at shops around Okutama Station and along the JR Ome Line (青梅線) is handed out. Scan the QR code printed in the pamphlet to see which shops take part and what each discount is.
The pamphlet is worth holding on to if you plan to eat or shop on the way back, since the participating shops sit along the route you take home anyway.
Getting there (no parking)
There is no parking at the venue, and the organizers ask everyone to come by public transport. Since this is a beer festival, that is the sensible choice anyway. You have three ways in:
| Route | Details |
|---|---|
| Shuttle bus | Runs between Okutama Station (奥多摩駅) and the venue throughout the event |
| On foot | About a 20-minute walk from Okutama Station (JR Ome Line) |
| Local bus | Nishi Tokyo Bus (西東京バス) to the Byoin-mae (病院前) stop, then a 1-minute walk |
The shuttle timetable was not published in the announcement. If you need a specific departure time, for example to catch a train home, check the organizer’s channels closer to the date.
Tips before you go
- Aim for 10:45. Arriving right at opening gets you the towel and the shortest queues while the first pours go out.
- Eat before 16:30. Food last orders come 30 minutes before the beer stops, so do not leave your meal until the end.
- Dress for the weather. The festival goes ahead rain or shine, and it is an outdoor site in the mountains in late autumn.
- Bring a bag for cans. The bottle shop sells guest brewery cans to take home.
- Payment is unconfirmed. Carrying some cash alongside your cards is the low-risk option until the organizer confirms what each stall accepts.
Planning more outings this season? We have also written up the Shibaura Canal Festival with its free canal cruises, where to watch the Setagaya Tamagawa fireworks and get home afterwards, and the Musashino Art University festival. For paid attractions, the Asoview campaign with up to ¥3,000 off tickets is worth a look.
