What to expect: sake tasting and conversations with brewers

The event focuses exclusively on junmai sake, bringing together breweries from Hokkaido to Kyushu. With more than 200 varieties represented, the appeal is the chance to compare different approaches to sake-making in one place.

Brewery owners and brewing staff will be available to discuss their rice, brewing methods and the choices behind their sake. For a more focused tasting, consider asking what distinguishes a particular bottle before deciding what to try next. English-language assistance has not been confirmed.

A stage program also brings together guests from different cultural fields to discuss Japan’s future. The official Nagoya 2026 schedule below provides another way to plan your visit alongside the tasting.
