They are digital gifts, so there is no shipping, no delivery fee, and you get them the same day. As long as you pay the right way, the bonus is applied the moment you redeem. The Yahoo! Shopping gift certificate bonus: three amounts, twice each
A “ヤフーショッピング商品券” (Yahoo! Shopping gift certificate) is store credit you can use to pay on Yahoo! Shopping. Right now three of them carry the 【増量対象】 (“bonus eligible”) tag: pay the right way and you receive 4% more than you paid when you redeem.
The limit is easy to misread. “各2回まで” means twice per denomination, not twice in total. The ¥10,000, ¥15,000 and ¥20,000 certificates are separate products, so you can make six purchases.
Buy every one of them twice and it is (20,000 + 15,000 + 10,000) × 2 = ¥90,000 for ¥93,600 of credit. The gap is +¥3,600, which is ¥93,600 of shopping for ¥90,000 — an effective 3.8% discount.
One practical note: one certificate per order, so maxing out means placing six separate orders. Since nothing ships and there is no delivery fee, that takes a few minutes.
And one line on the official page that is easy to skim past: “予定枚数に達し次第、販売終了” — sales end as soon as the allotted stock is gone. Don’t plan around them still being there on August 31.
One rule to know first, so you keep the full 4%
Most write-ups skip this, but it decides how much of the ¥3,600 you actually keep. It takes two minutes and everything after it follows from here.
Yahoo!’s own gift certificate page says: “2026年7月1日より、ヤフーショッピング商品券のご利用分は、キャンペーン・特典において付与対象外となりました” — from 1 July 2026, amounts paid with a gift certificate are excluded from campaign and bonus point awards. The help page that defines the point-eligible amount was updated the same way: “2026年7月1日以降は、ヤフーショッピング商品券利用分を対象金額に含みません”.
In plain terms: whatever you pay with the certificate does not count toward point calculation. The PayPay points that purchase would have earned are reduced in proportion to the certificate portion.
So the rule of thumb is one sentence: put the certificates toward payments that wouldn’t have earned much anyway, and the 4% bonus stays with you in full. The table below is just that idea turned into numbers.
The official notice also says “一部のキャンペーンにおいては、商品券でのお支払い分もポイント付与の計算対象となる場合があります” — some campaigns may still count certificate payments. If you are aiming at a specific promotion, check its own terms. Planning on the assumption that they do not count is the safe default.
The table: where spending the certificates pays off most
Run the numbers once, using the smallest option — pay ¥10,000, receive ¥10,400:
- You gain ¥400 (not ¥800 — the “+4%” is measured against what you paid).
- You spend ¥10,400 of credit, and that amount earns no points.
- If that purchase would have returned r, the points you forgo are 10,400 × r.
- Solve 400 = 10,400 × r and you get r ≈ 3.8%. Spend the credit anywhere returning less than 3.8% and the gain is yours.

Put another way: anything returning under 3.8% is a win — and more of your spending falls in that band than you’d think. Furusato nozei, stores that aren’t running promotions, and routine household restocking are all in it.
Days that already pay well — the 5s-and-0s days, the big seasonal sales — are better paid for the usual way, saving the certificates for the next purchase. Split them like that and you collect both benefits, with the full ¥3,600 intact.
Furusato nozei is the best fit (two things to check)
Since October 2025, no furusato nozei portal is allowed to award points on donations — the result of the Ministry of Internal Affairs revising its designation criteria, which Yahoo! Shopping announced at the time. So it is spending that earns you nothing however you pay for it.
Then, from 1 July 2026, gift certificates became usable for Yahoo! Furusato Nozei donations (added when the sales terms were revised). Those two facts fit together neatly, which makes this the one use where 100% of the bonus survives: pay ¥90,000, donate ¥93,600.
To keep all ¥3,600, there are exactly two things to confirm before you start.
Furusato nozei is fully deductible up to your personal ceiling, so if ¥93,600 fits inside this year’s limit, you are donating at 96% of the cost. Anything above the ceiling is not deductible, so work out your limit before deciding how many to buy. The ceiling depends on your income and household; every portal has a simulator. These certificates run on “30 days to redeem + 30 days to use”, so about 60 days from purchase. Have a rough shortlist of municipalities before you buy and complete the donations right after. From October onward is peak furusato nozei season and the popular return gifts sell out, so getting it done early is the more relaxed option anyway.
Other portals — Satofull, Furunavi and Furusato Choice — also run storefronts inside Yahoo! Shopping, and certificates do not work there (this is spelled out in the confirmation notes on the product page). Watch which storefront you are donating through.
Payment methods that qualify for the bonus
The bonus is not automatic on purchase — you only get it if you paid one of the accepted ways:

If you are going for all six, get the payment method right all six times. Slip once and that certificate loses its bonus — and since orders cannot be cancelled or refunded, there is no do-over.

Buying, redeeming and spending the certificate: two 30-day clocks
Three steps, a few minutes in total. Step two is the one people miss — leave it unredeemed and the whole thing expires after 30 days.
Digital gift, so nothing ships and there is no delivery fee. One per order, so maxing out means six orders.
Buying is not enough. Open the order details in your order history and complete the handover via the “受け取りURL” (redemption URL). This is the moment the bonus is applied — if you met the payment condition, the balance arrives already increased. You have 30 days from purchase to do this.
Choose the gift certificate as your payment method on the Yahoo! Shopping order screen; Yahoo! Furusato Nozei works the same way. You then have 30 days from redemption to spend it — after that any remaining balance is void.
“Buy now, spend at the year-end sales” does not work this round. The purchased amount and the bonus share one expiry, and the two clocks together give you about 60 days at most.

First-time buyers don’t need to worry about the cap: the full ¥90,000 fits inside the “¥100,000 through the end of next month” allowance (before 21 July 2026 that ceiling was ¥20,000, so maxing out wasn’t possible).

- Q. Do I get the 4% just by buying?
- No. After ordering you have to complete the handover from the “受け取りURL” in your order history, and the bonus is applied at that moment. If you never redeem, the whole thing expires after 30 days.
- Q. When does it end? Is there still time?
- Sales run from 17 August 2026, 00:00 to 31 August 2026, 23:59. However, Yahoo! states explicitly that sales end once the allotted stock is gone, so they may not last to the final day. If you know what you will spend it on, buy early. If you don’t yet, decide on your donations or purchases first — the clock starts at purchase (30 days to redeem, 30 to spend), so buying too early just brings the expiry forward.
- Q. Can I buy all three? What’s the total?
- Yes. The ¥10,000, ¥15,000 and ¥20,000 certificates are separate products and you can buy each twice. Maxed out that is ¥90,000 for ¥93,600 of credit, a gain of ¥3,600.
- Q. How is this different from the 8% round that ended 16 August?
- Only the bonus rate. It was 8% from 1–16 August and is 4% from 17–31 August. The eligible certificates, the payment conditions, the two-per-denomination cap and the 30-day redeem plus 30-day use windows are all identical.
- Q. Do I earn points when I pay with a certificate?
- No. Since 1 July 2026 the amount paid by gift certificate is excluded from the point-eligible total. That is why spending it where the return would be below about 3.8% — furusato nozei, stores not running campaigns — keeps the full 4% bonus. Save high-return sale days for your usual payment method.
- Q. It’s my first time buying one. Can I get the full ¥90,000?
- Yes. There is a cumulative cap from your first purchase through the end of the following month, but it was raised from ¥20,000 to ¥100,000 on 21 July 2026, so ¥90,000 fits.
- Q. What if I pay with something other than PayPay?
- The purchase itself goes through, but you won’t receive the bonus. Combining an accepted method with another one is also excluded. Orders can’t be cancelled, so get the payment method right every time.
- Q. Can I use them for Yahoo! Furusato Nozei?
