JINS is one of Japan’s big budget eyewear chains: the frame price already includes standard prescription lenses, so it’s where a lot of people living in Japan get their glasses made. Every winter it sells a fukubukuro (lucky bag), and the 2027 version is now listed on the official site. It costs ¥6,600 including tax and contains a glasses voucher worth ¥10,000 or ¥14,000 — you only find out which when you open it — plus a voucher valid for all of 2027 that gives ¥2,027 off at the register or 10% off for someone shopping with you.
Sales open at 10:00 on Wednesday, November 4, both on the JINS online store and as in-store pickup reservations, and close once the planned quantity is reached. Selected stores also sell bags over the counter from December 3, and all stores from January 1, 2027.

- ¥6,600 gets you a ¥10,000 or ¥14,000 glasses voucher (random) plus a year-long discount voucher
- The glasses voucher works January 4 – February 28, 2027, in stores only, and gives no change
- ¥2,027 off is valid until December 31 but can’t be used in the same purchase as the glasses voucher
- Choosing the ¥9,900 or ¥13,900 frame tier uses the voucher almost exactly
- 49 stores don’t accept the year-long voucher (15 RIM stores plus some JINS shops in malls such as LaLaport and LUMINE)

Which way to buy?
- Online storeNo trip to the store, but the bag arrives between mid-December and the end of the year. Payment is done online.
- In-store reservationPick a store and pay there when you collect it. Last year the pickup window was January 1–12 (dates for 2027 are not out yet).
- Walk-inNo reservation, but round 1 on December 3 is limited to some stores — the list is a PDF on the official page.
The voucher says it can be used once per person, and only by the person who signs it. You can buy one bag per method, but a second bag for yourself is of little use — think of it as one for a family member.
The Starbucks Japan Lucky Bag 2027 lottery also opens at 10:00 on November 4, so plan ahead if you want both.
What’s inside: two vouchers
Voucher 1: glasses voucher (¥10,000 or ¥14,000)

| Value | ¥10,000 or ¥14,000, one at random (you can’t choose) |
|---|---|
| Valid | Mon Jan 4 – Sun Feb 28, 2027 |
| Where | JINS stores (not the online store or JINS GO) |
| How | One voucher per transaction, one use only; no change, pay the difference if you go over |
| Can’t combine with | The year-long voucher, coupons, other discounts or campaigns, tax-free shopping |

According to the voucher, it becomes invalid if it isn’t signed, if you cut it off yourself, or if it’s torn or dirty. Staff cut it off at the register, so just write your name on it and leave it in one piece.
Voucher 2: discounts for all of 2027
| What you get | ① ¥2,027 off your bill ② 10% off for someone shopping with you |
|---|---|
| Valid | Mon Jan 4 – Fri Dec 31, 2027 |
| Where | JINS stores (not the online store and not 49 specific stores — list below) |
| Can’t combine with | The glasses voucher |
Under last year’s rules (2026 lucky bag), the year-long voucher could be used any number of times, one of the two per transaction, once a day, on bills of ¥5,500 or more (tax incl.), and the 10% companion discount only applied when the voucher holder was there too (2026 terms). The detailed 2027 terms will be posted on November 4.
Is it worth ¥6,600?
If you’re going to get glasses made between January 4 and February 28, you come out ahead whichever voucher you get.
| Voucher | You pay | Value | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| ¥10,000 | ¥6,600 | ¥10,000 | +¥3,400 |
| ¥14,000 | ¥6,600 | ¥14,000 | +¥7,400 |
That’s about 1.5× for the ¥10,000 voucher and 2.1× for the ¥14,000 one. If you buy another pair or new lenses later in 2027, the ¥2,027 discount applies to that purchase too (¥5,500 minimum under last year’s rules). Use a ¥10,000 voucher in February and buy a second pair in the autumn, and you save ¥3,400 + ¥2,027 = ¥5,427 in total.
Who it suits, who it doesn’t
- Good fitYou plan to get new glasses or a new prescription in January–February; you’ll pick a frame of ¥9,900 or more; you’ll shop with family or friends (10% off for them)
- Not a good fitYou can’t get to a store between January 4 and February 28 (the online store doesn’t take the vouchers); you only want one ¥5,900 pair (buying it normally is ¥700 cheaper than the bag); your usual store is on the excluded list
No change given: pick the right price tier
The vouchers give no change. JINS sells glasses at a set price per frame that already includes standard lenses. The frame tiers are (official JINS price page, November 3, 2026):
- ¥5,900
- ¥6,600
- ¥7,900
- ¥8,900
- ¥9,900
- ¥10,900
- ¥12,900
- ¥13,900
- ¥14,900
- ¥19,900
- ¥24,900
With a ¥10,000 voucher, the ¥9,900 tier uses it almost exactly; with ¥14,000, go for ¥13,900. For prescription glasses, 1.60 thin aspheric lenses cost nothing extra, so even a strong prescription won’t blow the budget.
If you prefer a cheaper frame, put the rest toward lens options such as blue-light cut or light-adjusting lenses. Under last year’s rules, the glasses voucher could also pay for paid lens replacement and lens options. If you go over the voucher, just pay the difference.

Stores where the 1-year discount doesn’t work (49)
The year-long voucher (¥2,027 off / 10% off for a companion) can’t be used at the 49 stores below (official JINS FAQ, November 3, 2026). The glasses voucher is only excluded from the online store and JINS GO, so it still works at these stores. Store names are kept in Japanese so you can search for them.

JINS vs Zoff lucky bag 2027

|---|---|---|
| Price | ¥6,600 | ¥6,600 |
| Glasses voucher | ¥10,000 or ¥14,000 (random) | ¥10,000 |

| Also inside | Year-long voucher (¥2,027 off / 10% off for a companion) | 20% off light-adjusting lenses, glasses cloth |
| Voucher usable online? | No | No (stores in Japan only) |
| On sale | Nov 4 (online + store reservations) | Rakuten store Oct 9, official online store Oct 30 (early sale) |
Both cost ¥6,600. JINS’s voucher is at least the same and sometimes ¥4,000 more, while Zoff’s lasts a month longer. If you’ll buy another pair during 2027, JINS’s year-long discount helps; if you want until spring to decide, Zoff gives you more time. Buying from the chain you already use wastes the least (Zoff details from macaroni).
