Matsuya Foods (headquarters: Musashino, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazutoshi Kawarabuki) is launching “Katsudon no Gu”, a ready-made katsudon topping supervised by Matsunoya, the company’s tonkatsu restaurant brand. Pre-sales start on the official Matsuya online shop on Friday, October 9, 2026. Other e-commerce sites, including Amazon, Rakuten Ichiba and Yahoo! Shopping, will begin selling it in stages from Monday, October 12.
The product is the latest in Matsunoya’s line of authentic side dishes. It draws on the chain’s experience as a tonkatsu specialist to bring rich Japanese dashi and fluffy simmered egg to the home table. It is a handy option for packed lunches or for dinner on busy days.
