Visiting Setouchi in Okayama on Sunday, November 1, 2026? Setouchi Citizens’ Day (瀬戸内市民の日) brings free rides on two municipal bus routes, cultural activities and special offers from local businesses. Visitors from outside the city can ride the designated buses for free, but free admission to the two museums is for Setouchi residents only.
The distinction matters when planning your day: some activities involve a purchase, one needs a reservation with a specific request, and others have limited giveaways.

Check the city’s official Citizens’ Day information for current details, conditions and contacts.

Tea, nostalgia and mandarin oranges
A room filled with Heisei-era memories
Nihon Ichi no Dagashi Uriba (日本一のだがし売場) is introducing the Heisei Nostalgia Room (平成のなつかし部屋), a display styled after a child’s room from that era. Toys, games, furniture, appliances, flip phones and stationery form part of the display.
The activity is organised by Omachi Co., Ltd. (株式会社大町), with announced hours of 9 a.m.–5 p.m. at 1373-5 Higashisue, Osafune-cho, Setouchi. The release does not state an admission fee; confirm with the venue rather than assuming entry is free.
Tea served in local Mushiage pottery
Shofu (松風), operated by Ihara Construction Industry Co., Ltd. (井原建設工業株式会社), is hosting a commemorative tea service using bowls made from Mushiage pottery. Anyone can take part.
A serving of thin matcha tea and a sweet costs ¥500. The session runs from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. at 688-1 Owari, Oku-cho, Setouchi.
Fill a bag with mandarin oranges
Roadside Station Kuroisan Green Park (道の駅 黒井山グリーンパーク) is holding a paid mandarin orange bag-filling activity from 9 a.m., until supplies run out. The participation price is not stated in the announcement.
The first 50 café customers also receive masking tape. The venue is at 5165-196 Mushiage, Oku-cho, Setouchi. The café giveaway and the orange activity have separate conditions.
Before you go
- Residents: bring proof of address for museum admission and check how the olive garden shop confirms eligibility.

- BBQ groups: mention the day when making your reservation and confirm that your group meets the four-person minimum.
- Giveaway hunters: museum gifts and café masking tape have stated limits. Mandarin orange bag-filling ends when supplies run out.
- Everyone: check transport, venue locations and any unstated conditions on the official page before setting out.
