Mitsui Outlet Park Kisarazu (三井アウトレットパーク 木更津) in Chiba is running a Pokémon festival from Saturday, October 24 to Monday, November 30, 2026. The official name is Pokémon Pika Pika Festival 2026 in Mitsui Outlet Park Kisarazu (ポケモン Pika Pika フェスティバル2026 in三井アウトレットパーク 木更津), and it is held with full cooperation from the Pokémon Store Outlet Kisarazu shop inside the mall.

If you only have time for one visit, the first weekend is the one to aim for: Pikachu appears in person on October 24 and 25 only. The Pokémon illuminations, on the other hand, stay up until February 28, 2027, so there is no rush for those.

Meet Pikachu on Pier Street (Oct 24 and 25 only)

Pikachu comes to Pier Street inside the outlet on the opening weekend. There are two sessions each day:

Pikachu greeting schedule
  • Saturday, October 24, 2026: from 12:00 and from 15:00
  • Sunday, October 25, 2026: from 12:00 and from 15:00

The announcement gives only the start times, not how long each session lasts. These are the only two days Pikachu is scheduled to appear during the whole festival, so if meeting Pikachu is the main reason for your trip, plan around this weekend.

Pokémon illuminations at Garden Terrace

Pokémon-themed illuminations light up the mall and the Garden Terrace area again this year. Many different Pokémon are featured, so part of the fun is spotting your favorites and taking photos with them.

The illuminations run much longer than the festival itself: October 24, 2026 to February 28, 2027. That means you can still catch them on a winter visit, well after the decorations elsewhere in the mall come down. Lighting hours are not listed in the announcement, so check the official site if you plan to go after dark.

Pokémon hidden around the mall

From October 24 to November 30, 2026, Pokémon decorations pop up in the food court and other spots around the mall. It works like a small treasure hunt: walk around while you shop and see how many you can find. It is an easy way to keep kids entertained between stores, and the food court makes a natural break point.

You do not even need to visit to take part in this one. The outlet is giving away Pokémon plush toys to 10 winners, chosen by lottery.

Mitsui Outlet Park Kisarazu is a resort-style outlet built around the concept BOSO CITY RESORT, making the most of its seaside setting. All the shops are single-story, so it feels open and airy. After about 30 more shops were added in June 2025, it now has roughly 330 stores, which the operator says is the largest number of any outlet facility in Japan.

Tips for getting the most out of your visit

  • Pick the opening weekend if Pikachu matters. The greeting only happens on October 24 and 25, with sessions from 12:00 and 15:00.
  • Enter round 1 of the giveaway before October 23. It only takes a follow and a like, and round 2 gives you a second chance later.
  • Stay until evening for the lights. The illuminations are the kind of thing that look best after sunset, and they keep running into February 2027.
  • Driving is the simplest option. Parking is free for about 6,000 cars, which takes a lot of the cost out of a family day trip.
  • Pay smart while you shop. If you are still figuring out which card to use for outlet shopping, our guide to credit cards in Japan for foreigners covers where to start.

Pokémon fans have had a busy autumn. If you missed it, take a look at the Starbucks Japan × Pokémon collaboration with the Pikachu Honey Cream Latte.
