Looking for a relaxed weekend outing that costs nothing to get into? LIFE DESIGN CRAFTS vol.7 in OMIYA is a market where young designers and craft makers sell things they designed or made themselves. You buy straight from the person behind each piece, and most items are priced for casual shopping rather than art collectors. It runs on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Omiya Kadomachi (大宮門街), right by JR Omiya Station.

- Free entry, no reservation, open to anyone
- Sat Oct 24: 12:00–19:00 / Sun Oct 25: 11:00–18:00
- 1st floor plaza of Omiya Kadomachi, about 3 minutes on foot from JR Omiya Station East Exit
- About 45 booths of homeware, accessories, ceramics, glass, quilted goods and more
- This is the 7th edition; the next one is planned for April 2027
What LIFE DESIGN CRAFTS is
The market was started to give young designers more chances to show and sell their work. Exhibitors range from in-house designers at companies to independent craft makers, and the common thread is everyday items that fit quietly into ordinary life.
The organizer, PLA STUDIO LLC (合同会社PLA STUDIO), is a design studio in Kuki, Saitama, founded by designer Akihiko Nakatani, born in 1997. The studio mainly designs and makes household goods. According to the organizer, the six earlier editions turned into lively conversations between makers and visitors, and booths are chosen for careful workmanship, how well items suit a living space, and fresh ideas.

What you can buy and the price feel

Expect one-of-a-kind homeware and accessories you rarely see in ordinary shops: furniture and storage, incense holders, jewelry in brass and silver, ceramics, glass, quilted pieces, wooden interior goods and items made with a 3D printer.
The organizer says expensive art pieces are few and most items are priced so you can buy without overthinking it. Exact prices have not been announced, so budget with that in mind. Because the makers staff their own booths, it is a good place to ask how something was made, which is part of the fun.

KEIV: furniture that changes with your room

KEIV pairs simple design with furniture you can reconfigure quickly. It only has a booth on Saturday, October 24, so plan your visit around that if storage and shelving are on your list.
bon.: everyday goods from Kanagawa

bon. handles everything from planning to branding for furniture, appliances, stationery and daily goods. Expect items such as incense holders, picnic rugs and a soy-based coffee.
P O F U: brass and silver for the long run

Jewelry mainly in brass and silver plus tableware, designed to stay wearable as you age and inspired by plants and small everyday moments.
kitamichi: humor in thin pine

Using kyogi, a thin sheet of pine wood, kitamichi makes light-hearted interior pieces such as potato-chip shapes and flowers that work as aroma diffusers.
a.e.: quilted pieces that lift your mood

a.e. uses quilting, stitching padding between two or more layers of fabric, to make art goods built around one idea: things you could do without, but that make life a little more cheerful.
