Tastings, local food for sale and a rice pack game
Yukuhashi is a small city on the coast of Fukuoka Prefecture, and for one day it is setting up a food stand in the middle of Tokyo. On Wednesday, October 14, 2026, the city runs its second promotion fair, Shitchoru? Yukuhashi Fair (第2回 知っちょる?ゆくはしフェア), in Nihonbashi. You can sample and buy local products, and pick up a free pack of slow-aged brown rice if you win a short game.
Here is what is on offer, how the rice pack game works, and what the announcement does not tell you yet.

| Product | Notes |
|---|---|
| Dried fig and Earl Grey jam (ドライいちじくとアールグレイのジャム) | Popular as a furusato nozei gift |
| Roasted nori (焼きのり) | Ariake and Minoshima; also a popular gift |

The jam and the nori are among the city’s popular furusato nozei (hometown tax donation) return gifts. Tasting them here is an easy way to check before you donate. If you are planning donations this year, read what changed for furusato nozei donors in October first.
The nekase genmai rice and how to get a pack
The headline item is a ready-to-eat pack of nekase genmai (寝かせ玄米®), which roughly means rested brown rice. It was developed by Yukuhashi City, local farmers and YUWAERU Co., Ltd., the company that holds the trademark.
- Made only from brown rice grown in Yukuhashi
- The variety is Yume Tsukushi, one of Fukuoka’s best-known brand rices
- The rice is pressure-cooked and then left to mature, which softens the usual firmness of brown rice and gives it a chewy, sticky texture
You can taste it at the booth. To get a pack to take home:
- Follow the official Yukuhashi City Instagram account and like a post
- Show the liked post on your phone at the booth to join the game
- Win a nekase genmai rice pack
The flyer shows a dart board, but the announcement only says it is a game, so check the details on site. Packs are limited.
