Tokyo is not only office towers and train lines. The city also has farms, forests and fishing grounds, and Taste of Tokyo 2026 (東京味わいフェスタ2026) is the annual chance to taste and get hands-on with what they produce. On October 8, 2026, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government announced the vendors and the program for this year. The festival spreads over four areas in central Tokyo, Marunouchi, Yurakucho, Hibiya and Toyosu, from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25.

Each area has a different theme. Marunouchi is about tasting, Yurakucho mixes Tokyo farming with regional sake and specialties, Hibiya adds fruit picking and a film screening, and Toyosu is the hands-on area for farming, forestry and fishing. Opening hours also differ by area and day, so check the table below before you head out.

Before you go: the press release does not mention an admission fee or which payment methods vendors accept. Please check the official Taste of Tokyo website for the latest details. The organizers post updates on X, Facebook and Instagram as @tokyoajifes.

Marunouchi: Tokyo produce, kitchen cars and the main stage

Marunouchi is the area to come hungry. On Gyoko-dori, the wide avenue leading from Tokyo Station, farmers sell their own produce directly.

  • Fresh seasonal vegetables and fruit grown in Tokyo, sold by the growers themselves
  • Eggs from Tokyo Ukokkei (東京うこっけい), a silkie chicken breed developed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government
  • A booth introducing Tokyo’s traditional local dishes
  • A market of products from the Tama area in western Tokyo
  • Specialties and local food from Fukushima, Iwate, Miyagi, Niigata and Ishikawa

On Marunouchi Naka-dori and nearby streets, food trucks sell festival-only dishes created by well-known chefs and popular restaurants. Outside the Marunouchi Building you will find the Tokyo Yasai Takarabune (東京野菜宝船), a treasure ship display built from Tokyo-grown produce. Hydrogen-powered kitchen cars cook Tokyo brand meats, and Tokyo-made beer is on sale too.

The stage is inside MARUCUBE on the first floor of the Marunouchi Building. The two rice flour events on the weekend are part of the Tokyo Komeko Chishin (Tokyo 米粉知新) campaign to promote rice flour.

Yurakucho: harvesting and regional sake

The Ground Level Courtyard at Tokyo International Forum combines Tokyo farming with food from across Japan.

  • Dishes made with Tokyo ingredients, from kitchen cars and from restaurants inside the building
  • Kitchen cars and tents introducing Tokyo’s local dishes
  • A harvesting experience at Tokyo Yasai Batake (東京やさい畑), a pop-up vegetable field
  • Local sake and other drinks from different regions of Japan
  • A free gift of Tokyo island specialties for customers who spend a certain amount at shops in the building (while supplies last)
  • Stage performances, including dance and music, by Tokyo-based performers
  • Products from food-tech companies, sold in partnership with TIB

The spending amount needed for the island gift is not listed in the press release, so ask on site or check the official website.

Hibiya: fruit picking, limited menus and a food film

Around Hibiya Naka-dori there is a market of fresh Tokyo vegetables and processed foods, plus kitchen cars serving original dishes made with Tokyo ingredients. The highlight is seasonal fruit picking right in the street, and you can join without bringing anything.

Several restaurants in the area are joining with special sales or limited-time menus that use Tokyo ingredients:

At the Step Plaza of Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, the festival teams up with HIBIYA CINEMA FESTIVAL 2026 to screen a film about food, followed by a talk by Rui Arisaka (有坂塁) of Kinoiglu. Kitchen cars also rotate daily at Hibiya Godzilla Square.

Toyosu: farming, forestry and fishing up close

Toyosu is the most hands-on area and a good pick for families. The special venue on the waterfront side of the former Gas Science Museum is split into zones.

Farming zone: vegetable field workshops, fresh Tokyo vegetables for sale, and a PIAGGIO Ape three-wheeler loaded with produce as a photo spot.

Forestry zone: log sawing and a wooden block play area that children can enjoy, a booth for tasting wild game (gibier), and a workshop grilling Tokyo vegetables over camellia charcoal. Mr. Tokyo Forestry (ミスターとうきょう林業), who promotes Tokyo’s forestry, runs a workshop on Saturday and Sunday only.

Fishing zone: Mr. Tokyo Fisheries (ミスターとうきょう漁業) holds a workshop on Saturday and Sunday only, and a mobile aquarium showing sea creatures from Tokyo Bay is open on Sunday, October 25 only.

Kitchen car zone: stage shows by popular comedians, plus kitchen cars selling food made with Tokyo ingredients and Tokyo’s local dishes.

In every area: stamp rally, English map and reusable cups

  • Digital stamp rally: checkpoints with scannable codes are planned at each venue. Collect stamps at three or more to enter a prize draw.
  • Venue map: a map covering all four areas is handed out in Japanese and English.
  • Reusable cups: drinks are served in reusable cups to cut down on plastic waste. Return your cup at a collection point and you get a KEEP TOKYO CLEAN promotional item (one per person, while supplies last).

Planning tips

  • Toyosu on Saturday ends at 14:30. If you want the forestry and fishing workshops, which run Saturday and Sunday only, Sunday gives you more time. Sunday is also the only day for the mobile aquarium.
  • Do Marunouchi first. It closes at 17:00 every day, while Hibiya is open until 20:00 on all three days, so Hibiya works well for the evening.
  • Yurakucho closes at 17:00 on Sunday, earlier than on Friday and Saturday.
  • Marunouchi, Yurakucho and Hibiya are next to each other, so you can pick up three stamp rally checkpoints in one walk without going to Toyosu.
  • Payment methods are not announced. Check the official site, and if you are still setting up a card in Japan, our guide to credit cards for foreigners in Japan explains which one to apply for first.

The same weekend has more going on. The Musashino Art University festival also starts on October 23. If you enjoy city events along the water, see our notes from the Shibaura Canal Festival and the Setagaya Tamagawa fireworks. For discounted day trips, the Asoview campaign is running now.

The full list of venues and vendors is in the vendor list PDF attached to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government press release (Japanese).
