The Headphone Festival has been running since spring 2008. This autumn edition is the 42nd in-person event and the 14th held at Station Conference Tokyo. The spring 2026 edition, also on two floors, drew more than 2,500 visitors, so expect a lively room.

What you can try there

The whole event is built around listening. Exhibitors set out headphones, earphones, players and amps, and you walk from table to table trying them. A few things worth knowing:

  • New products and display models. Many exhibitors bring new releases, and the organizer hints that reference exhibits and products still in development may appear too.
  • A new LUXMAN amp on the poster. This year’s main visual features a new headphone amplifier from LUXMAN.
  • A wide price range. You can go from the latest trends to very high-end equipment in one afternoon.
  • Beginners are welcome. According to the organizer, if you are just getting into audio, listening with your own smartphone is enough to enjoy the day.

Getting there and getting in

The venue is on the 5th and 6th floors of Sapia Tower, and it is about as easy to reach as anywhere in Tokyo:

  • JR Tokyo Station, Nihonbashi Exit: directly connected
  • JR Tokyo Station, Yaesu North Exit: 2 minutes on foot
  • Tokyo Metro Tozai Line, Otemachi Station: directly connected through the Sapia Tower underground passage, near Exit B8
Arriving before 11:00? Early arrivals will be asked to line up inside the building. Go to the 1st floor of Station Conference Tokyo, where staff will be waiting, and follow their directions. Please do not wait on the 6th floor.

Once the doors open at 11:00, you can come and go as you like, so stepping out for lunch is no problem. Note that some booths may hand out numbered tickets for listening slots.

Stamp rally and X campaign

The popular listening stamp rally is planned again. Try gear at the participating booths, collect stamps, and you enter a prize draw for novelty items and more. Which booths take part, and the exact rules, will be announced later on the official festival page.

The official X account is also running a campaign, and the organizer invites visitors to post with the hashtag #ヘッドフォン祭, whether that is the model you are most excited about before the event or your impressions on the day.

Want to buy? The online sale

Nothing is sold at the venue. The festival is for listening only. If you find something you love, the place to buy it is Fujiya Avic’s online store.

As with past festivals, Fujiya Avic plans a discount sale on its online store in the period before and after the event. Sale dates and prices have not been announced, so check the store directly. The store is also holding its regular custom IEM discount campaign, a good chance if you have been thinking about ordering custom-fit in-ear monitors.

Shopping on a Japanese online store is much smoother with a card issued in Japan. If you don’t have one yet, our guide to credit cards in Japan for foreigners explains which one to apply for first.

Prefer to try things in a shop? Fujiya Avic’s store is on the 3rd floor of Nakano Broadway (中野ブロードウェイ), 5-52-15 Nakano, Nakano-ku, open 10:30–20:00. You can listen to headphones, earphones and audio gear in the store, and it also offers appraisals and buys used audio equipment. If you would rather sell an old pair yourself, a flea market app is another route; see our Mercari sign-up guide.

Tips for a first visit

  • Bring your smartphone. It is enough to enjoy the listening, according to the organizer.
  • Check the booth map before you go. It will be posted on the official page and X account, and with 70+ booths it helps to know where your must-try brands are.
  • Early birds go to 1F. Not 6F.
  • Look out for numbered tickets. Some popular booths may use them, so visit those first.
  • Take notes instead of your wallet. Write down the models you like, then compare prices during the online sale.
