Chiba Cookie Canvas: a one-day market of limited cookie tins
Last time, every tin was gone within an hour of opening. Round two has more makers and more tins.
If you like boxed cookies as gifts, or just as a treat for yourself, this is worth a morning trip. Chiba Cookie Canvas (CHIBA COOKIE CAN(缶)VAS) is a cookie tin sale held inside the STAY STREET Marche, right in front of the Chiba Bank head office building near Chiba Minato. The name is a play on “can” and “canvas,” since every cookie here comes packed in a tin.
The organizer is Chibagin Shoten (ちばぎん商店株式会社), a company wholly owned by Chiba Bank that runs the C-VALUE crowdfunding and shopping sites. The first edition sold out about an hour after sales began, so this second edition adds more makers and more products. Everything is sold in limited quantities.

Purchase rules: how many tins you can buy
The organizer expects a crowd, so a few rules are in place to spread the tins around:
- General sales start at 10:00 on the day.
- Up to three tins per person, one of each tin. This limit may change depending on how busy it gets.
- Each tin has its own sales cap. Once a tin hits that cap, it is gone.
In practice, that means you should decide on your top three before you arrive.
Early entry pass via C-VALUE
If you want a head start, Chibagin Shoten sells an early entry pass on its C-VALUE crowdfunding site. The package is the early entry pass plus ¥5,000 in shopping credit you can spend on the day.
| Sales period | Tuesday, October 20 – Sunday, November 1, 2026 |
|---|---|
| Early entry | From 9:30 or from 9:45 (two entry slots) |
| Shopping credit | ¥5,000, usable only at the cookie tin sales area on the day No change given back |
| Quantity | Limited |
| Price | Not listed in the announcement. Check the project page |
Two things to keep in mind. First, the pass gets you in earlier, but it does not guarantee you will get the tin you want, because every tin still has a cap. Second, since the credit gives no change, plan your picks so they add up close to ¥5,000.

Tins worth a closer look
With only three picks allowed, it helps to know what makes each tin different. Here are the ones with the clearest selling points.
Okashiya TeTe: rice flour, no dairy, eggs or white sugar
A good pick if you avoid dairy or eggs. The cookies are made with rice flour and no dairy, eggs or white sugar. For this event, illustrator Maiko Ikekatsu drew an autumn-themed label.

Cafe Cacapo: autumn flavors in one tin
Squirrels and acorns decorate this autumn-only tin. Inside are flavors such as Japanese chestnut, purple sweet potato, hojicha roasted green tea and pumpkin.

Cafe Sucre: a Nordic forest scene
This one is built around a Nordic forest theme, with a white deer icing cookie, flowers, and kohakuto (a crystallized jelly candy) meant to look like the aurora.

Takagi Seika: tanuki mascot, no preservatives
Open the tin and the shop’s raccoon dog mascot, Yukio, greets you along with other forest animals. The baked goods are made without preservatives.

Mugi no Kaori: a hard-to-get puppy tin
This Narita shop has been around for over 20 years. Its puppy tin is normally sold only now and then, and only for in-store pickup, so the market is a rare chance to buy it on the spot. A new schnauzer tin joins the lineup this time.

Patissiere nao: the rabbit tin that sold out in half a day
This rabbit tin once sold out in half a day. A black-and-white rabbit sits in the center, surrounded by a mix of baked sweets.

Other quick notes
- Totonoe Gashi: gluten-free, made with Japanese okara (soy pulp) and brown rice flour from Kumamoto. Also the lowest-priced tin on the list.
- Kinjo Yakigashi Kobo: lightly sweet salt and cheese cookies with cheddar, gouda and three kinds of nuts. About 24 cookies in a map-design tin.
- pâtisserie lapage: a big-eyed cat tin drawn by illustrator Chie Katayama. The owner trained at LADURÉE in Paris.
- Hikawa no Mori YAKUMO: themed on the approach to Hikawa Shrine in Saitama, with sablés shaped like torii gates and zelkova leaves.
- BOSOSWEETS: uses ingredients from the Boso area, and the contents change with the season.
Single cookies, coffee and the rest of the market
Don’t want a whole tin? Individually wrapped cookies are also on sale in limited numbers. They come from Daisy (デイジイ), a long-running bakery in Kawaguchi, Saitama.
For drinks, ushikuni cafe, a coffee stand by Kazusa-Ushiku Station in Ichihara, will be there. It has made a special blend to go with the cookies, sold in drip bags with a market-only design (the design may change). You can drink coffee on site or take the drip bags home to enjoy with your tins.
The wider STAY STREET Marche also has food trucks and a prize draw with a spinning lottery drum, so there is more to do than shop for cookies.
Tips for the day
- Come early or get the pass. The first edition sold out within an hour. If one specific tin matters to you, the early entry pass is the only way to beat the 10:00 crowd, though even that is no guarantee.
- Pick three and rank them. With the three-tin limit, have a backup in mind for when your first choice runs out.
- Bring a sturdy bag. Tins stack better in a flat-bottomed tote.
- Take the train. The organizer asks visitors to use public transportation.
- Check for changes. Content may change, so look at the official page the day before.
