How to cancel before you are charged
Once the free period ends, the plan renews automatically at the monthly rate (¥1,080 for Prime members). If you do not want to keep it, turn off renewal with these steps from Amazon’s help page:
- Open Amazon Music settings (「Amazon Musicの設定」). You can also reach it from Memberships & Subscriptions in your Amazon account.
- Find the Amazon Music Unlimited section.
- Under Subscription Renewal (「会員資格の更新」), choose Cancel (「会員資格をキャンセルする」).
- Confirm the cancellation.
With an Echo, you can also say 「アレクサ、Amazon Music Unlimitedの会員登録をキャンセルして」 to start the cancellation.
- Unlimited songs and podcasts turn grey and can no longer be played, including downloads
- Your chosen Audible audiobook also becomes unavailable at the end of that billing cycle
Things to watch out for
- Past Unlimited subscribers usually don’t qualify. The offer is for new subscribers only. Accounts that used Unlimited before may see a different comeback offer instead; it varies by account.
- Individual monthly plan only. Family, Student and Single-Device plans are not part of this 4-month offer.
- Non-Prime members get 3 months. Same rules, one month shorter.
- No stacking, one account per person. You cannot use a family member’s account for a second round.
- The deadline is for signing up. Register by October 20; the free months start from your sign-up.
