Japan Marriott Amex: up to 85,000 points
A separate record of the referral offer checked on October 24
The Japanese Marriott Bonvoy American Express Premium referral offer we checked now totals up to 85,000 points. That is 5,000 more than the 80,000-point referral offer checked on October 8: the six-month referral bonus increased from 25,000 to 30,000 points.
This article records the offer verified on October 24, 2026; that is our check date, not a claimed campaign launch date. It concerns the Japan-issued Premium Card, not a US Marriott card. For ongoing card benefits, see the Marriott Amex card guide.
The referrer may also receive a reward when an eligible referral qualifies.
What changed in this offer?
The three-month 10,000-point bonus and the advertised 45,000 ordinary purchase points remain the same. The six-month referral bonus is now 30,000 instead of 25,000, raising the total from 80,000 to 85,000. The advertised total includes ordinary purchase points; it is not an 85,000-point bonus on top of them.

Referral versus applying directly: 85,000 or 75,000 points
The referral offer we checked provides up to 10,000 more points than the direct offer on Amex Japan’s website. Compare the actual offers shown to you: the application route and offer displayed can affect what you receive.
| Requirement or component | Referral | Direct |
|---|---|---|
| Spend ¥300,000 within three months | 10,000 points | 10,000 points |
| Spend ¥1.5 million in total within six months | 30,000 points | 20,000 points |
| Ordinary points on ¥1.5 million of spending | 45,000 points | 45,000 points |
| Maximum advertised total | 85,000 points | 75,000 points |
The two spending targets overlap
You do not need to spend ¥1.8 million. Eligible spending during the first three months also counts toward the six-month ¥1.5 million total. However, reaching ¥1.5 million by month six does not make up for missing the ¥300,000 target in the first three months. The clock starts on the card approval date, not the delivery date.
The 45,000 ordinary points assume all ¥1.5 million earns the standard three points per ¥100. Some payments earn fewer or no points, so actual purchase points may differ. Annual fees and other fees do not count toward the welcome spending requirement. Save the offer and its terms before submitting your application.
Keep the annual fee and renewal benefits separate
The Premium annual fee is ¥82,500 including tax, with one free supplementary family card. The welcome offer is separate from the annual Free Night Award, which requires ¥4 million of eligible program-year spending plus renewal, and the Platinum Elite spending route, which requires ¥5 million during the specified annual period. Premium is the card name; its included hotel status is Gold Elite.
When does the 85,000-point offer end?
We did not find an explicit application deadline on the referral screen checked for this article. This does not guarantee an indefinite offer. Recheck the reward and conditions on the actual application screen. Earlier offers such as 111,000 points are separate historical offers, not the terms of this 85,000-point version.
From requesting a link to receiving your points
1. Prepare your membership number and request a link
Check your existing Marriott Bonvoy number and registered name. If you would like to request a referral URL, use our Marriott card referral-request form. The form requests a link; it does not submit a card application on your behalf.
2. Read the actual offer before applying
Open the received link and verify the Japanese Premium Card, annual fee, reward breakdown and deadlines on Amex’s page. Keep a copy of the offer. An application submitted through another route cannot subsequently be changed to the referral offer.
3. Track eligible spending from approval
Record the approval date and both spending deadlines. Eligible supplementary-card purchases are included with the primary cardholder’s spending. Planned groceries, travel and other regular purchases may help, but check payment eligibility first. Merchant reporting can be delayed, so do not rely on a last-minute purchase to cross the threshold.
Welcome bonuses are added after the conditions are met and may take up to three months. They do not necessarily arrive with ordinary purchase points. If points or status are missing, check the link between your card and Marriott account, including matching registration details.
Eligibility exclusions to check before applying
- Current or previous holders of the Marriott Standard, Premium or SPG Amex, including returning applicants, and excluded card-switching applications are not eligible for the relevant welcome offer. Check your history with Amex before relying on the bonus.
- A supplementary-card-only application does not earn the primary card’s welcome offer. Eligible supplementary spending can nevertheless count toward the primary account’s targets.
- Annual fees, other fees and amounts not paid on the card, such as coupon-covered portions, are excluded. Refunds or canceled purchases can remove eligibility and lead to rewards being reversed.
- Canceling or switching before the bonus is awarded, or failing to pay the first annual fee, can affect eligibility. The Japanese Standard and Premium Cards cannot be held together.
Are referrals safe? Know who receives your information
The card application is completed on American Express’s official website. Amex’s referral terms state that it does not disclose the applicant’s personal information, review progress or decision to the referrer. That does not mean a referral-request form is anonymous: information you enter into our form is received by this site.
A referral does not guarantee approval or a reward. American Express makes the lending decision. Its Member Get Member terms also restrict who may be referred and how referral links may be used. Sending a link by email alone does not establish compliance with every provision.
Our public entry point is a link-request form; the actual referral URL is not posted in this article. Requesting a link is not a credit-card application. Submit financial details and identity documents only through the official Amex application process, not to the referrer.
Questions about this referral offer
How do I earn the 85,000-point referral total?
Meet eligible spending of ¥300,000 within three months and ¥1.5 million in total within six months of approval. The total includes 10,000 and 30,000 bonus points plus 45,000 ordinary points assuming the standard earning rate.
Do I need to spend ¥1.8 million?
No. Eligible purchases in the first three months also count toward the six-month ¥1.5 million total. Both deadlines must still be met.
When do the welcome points arrive?
Welcome bonuses are added after qualifying and may take up to three months. Ordinary purchase points and welcome bonuses may arrive separately.
Can supplementary-card spending count?
Eligible family-card spending is combined with the primary cardholder’s spending. A supplementary-card-only application does not receive the primary card’s welcome offer.
Can former SPG or Marriott Amex cardholders get the offer?
Previous ownership, returning applications and card switches are subject to welcome-offer exclusions. Ask Amex to confirm eligibility based on your card history before applying.
When does the 85,000-point referral offer expire?
The referral screen we checked did not show an explicit application deadline. The offer is not guaranteed to continue indefinitely; verify the reward and terms on your application screen.
If these terms fit your plans, use the form link below to request a referral URL. Requesting a link does not submit a credit-card application.
