Musashi-Kosugi Tokyu Square (武蔵小杉東急スクエア), the shopping center attached to Musashi-Kosugi Station in Kawasaki, is bringing its community festival back for a third year. The stage is Kosugi Core Park (こすぎコアパーク), the park right next to the station south exit. Over one weekend you get local restaurants and sweet shops, craft beer, hands-on workshops, a ¥500 capsule toy machine, a Tokyu train booth and a live radio booth.
Some booths run on only one of the two days, so it pays to check the schedule before you pick a day. This guide lays out what runs when.

Food and drink stalls
Most of the 23 stalls come from Musashi-Kosugi and the neighborhoods around it, so this is a chance to try places you might otherwise walk past. The press release lists these as a partial lineup:
| Stall | What to try |
|---|---|
| MUI (ムイ)NEW | Coffee beans from a specialist roaster in Motosumiyoshi |
| Nikunokatamari (ニクノカタマリ) | Its signature hamburg steak rice bowl; the shop specializes in hamburg steak set meals |
| KOSUGI CURRY (コスギカレー) | Its extra-rich curry, with a name that plays on Kosugi and the Japanese word for ‘too much’; the shop is in its 16th year |
| Kagiya Brewery (カギヤブルワリー) | Original craft beer and herb sausages |
| Ikumi Mama no Dobutsu Donuts (イクミママのどうぶつドーナツ) | Animal-shaped donuts made with carefully chosen ingredients |
| Sandwich & Bakery Vertu375 (ベルチュ サンナナゴ) | A wide range of sandwiches on rustique bread |
| Thai Restaurant MaiTai (マイタイ) | Thai dishes such as gapao rice and khao man gai |
| KAWASAKI Mottainai PROJECT (City of Kawasaki)NEW | Mottainai products developed by young people in the city together with local food makers Kashisho Suehiroan, Otsukemono Kei and Karuna Est |

MUI is one of the new faces this year. If you like taking beans home rather than drinking on the spot, this is the stall to look for.

For a proper lunch, the hamburg steak bowl from Nikunokatamari and the curry from KOSUGI CURRY are the two heavy hitters.

Kagiya Brewery pairs its own beer with herb sausages, a natural match if you are spending the afternoon in the park.

Coming with kids? The animal donuts and the sandwiches from Vertu375 are easy to eat while walking between booths.
Hands-on booths (two are Saturday only)
Besides food, there are handmade goods, craft workshops and a few learning booths. These three are new this year:
| Booth | What you do | Day |

Tips before you go
- Bring coins and small bills. The gacha takes cash only. The press release does not say which payment methods the food stalls accept, so do not count on paying by card everywhere.
- Pick your day. The pedal-power lottery, the Bank of Yokohama quiz and the Norurun photo session are Saturday only. The Tokyu train quiz is Sunday only.
- Arrive early for the limited items. The gacha, the quiz prizes and the lottery prizes all end when stock runs out.
- Check the weather page. The event goes ahead in rain but is cancelled in stormy weather. Any cancellation is announced on the Kono Machi Daisuki Musashi-Kosugi website.
Paying for festival food and shopping center purchases on the same day adds up. If you are choosing a card for everyday spending, see which credit card foreigners in Japan should get first.
