The theme is learning through play, and getting in costs nothing.

Design experience (free)

The idea is to let kids’ creativity run free with coloring. The idea is simple: color freely and doodle as much as you like on handprints and footprints. It is free, so it works well as a first stop for younger children.

Aquarium experience (¥800)

This is the most science-flavored workshop. Kids build a mini aquarium using real water and oil, and see for themselves how liquids separate and circulate. At ¥800 it is also the priciest item on the list.

Event planning (free)

Children think up an event they would love to go to, then plan its theme and content. No materials to take home here, but it suits kids who like to talk through ideas.

Cotton candy maker (¥100)

Kids spin their own cotton candy, choosing from colorful sugar so each one comes out different. It doubles as a snack.

Paper cup rocket (free)

Decorate a paper cup rocket in your favorite colors, then launch it into the air. Free, and good for kids who would rather move than sit.

Hair tie workshop (¥200)

Kids mix beads of different colors and shapes to make their own hair tie, and take it home when finished.

Stamp rally and lottery

Every visitor gets a stamp card. Visit the participating booths, collect stamps, and you can enter a lottery depending on how many you gathered. It is a nice way to give the day a route instead of wandering.

The press release does not say which booths count or what the lottery prizes are. If your kids are set on the lottery, pick up the card early and ask staff on the day.

Food and festival game areas

  • Food area: kitchen cars and food booths are planned, with space for families to eat and take a break. The vendors have not been named yet.
  • Festival game area: classic Japanese festival (ennichi) game booths are coming. The specific games and their prices have not been announced.

A full day of crafts and games drains a phone fast, especially if you are taking lots of photos. If that is a regular problem, our guide to free, unlimited ChargeSPOT power bank rentals with d VALUE PASS may help.

Before you go: what is still unannounced

The press release does not cover rain plans, parking, access by train or bus, accepted payment methods for the paid workshops, whether workshops need booking, or the lottery prizes. Check the official event page or the official Instagram before you leave.
