JAL Domestic Time Sale Runs October 6–7
Japan Airlines (JAL) is holding a two-day “Domestic Time Sale” from Tuesday, October 6 to Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The travel period runs from December 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027, covering the year-end and New Year holidays — a good chance to book winter getaways or trips home at promotional fares.
Tickets are sold exclusively on the JAL website. Sales take place in two stages: October 6 is a presale for JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) members only, followed by general sales on October 7. JMB members can book a day ahead of everyone else, which is the key advantage.

Lowest One-Way Fares on Key Routes
The lowest one-way fares announced for key routes are listed below. All of them connect Tokyo Haneda with major cities in Japan.
- Tokyo Haneda – Osaka Itami: from ¥9,460
- Tokyo Haneda – Sapporo New Chitose: from ¥11,000
- Tokyo Haneda – Okinawa Naha: from ¥11,440
- Tokyo Haneda – Fukuoka: from ¥12,210
Across these four routes, one-way fares range from ¥9,460 to ¥12,210. The cheapest is Tokyo Haneda – Osaka Itami at ¥9,460, below the ¥10,000 mark. Even the longer routes to Sapporo, Okinawa and Fukuoka fall between ¥11,000 and ¥12,210 one-way.
Round-Trip Estimates
If you manage to book the lowest fare in both directions, the simple round-trip totals are as follows (excluding passenger facility charges):
- Tokyo Haneda – Osaka Itami: ¥18,920 round trip
- Tokyo Haneda – Sapporo New Chitose: ¥22,000 round trip
- Tokyo Haneda – Okinawa Naha: ¥22,880 round trip
- Tokyo Haneda – Fukuoka: ¥24,420 round trip
Keep in mind that these are the “lowest fares.” They don’t necessarily apply to every flight or travel date, so there is no guarantee you can get the lowest fare both ways.
Check Other Routes Too
The announcement lists these routes as examples, so other routes may also be included in the sale. Check the JAL website for details on eligible routes, flights and fares.
What to Know About the JMB Member Presale
To use the October 6 presale, you need the JMB membership number for every passenger. This applies not only to the person booking but also to any family members or friends traveling with you, so take extra care if you’re booking for a group.
- Gather the JMB membership numbers of all travel companions before booking
- If anyone in your party isn’t a JMB member, you won’t have numbers for all passengers and can’t book during the presale
- If you can’t provide numbers for everyone, book during the general sale on October 7
Virtual Waiting Room to Manage Traffic
To avoid heavy traffic on its website, JAL will set up a “virtual waiting room.” If you access the website between 30 minutes before the sale starts and the start time, you may be placed in this virtual waiting room.
If you have your eye on a particular flight, allow plenty of time in case you have to wait. Check the JAL website in advance for details such as the sale start time.
Check Passenger Facility Charges and Fare Conditions
At some airports, a passenger facility charge is required in addition to the fare. Don’t judge by the sale fare alone — check the total amount, including passenger facility charges, on the booking screen.
The eligible fare type is “Promotion.” Be sure to review the fare rules, including how changes and refunds are handled, before you buy.
Pre-Booking Checklist
- Do your travel dates fall within the travel period (December 1, 2026 – January 31, 2027)?
- Will you buy during the presale (October 6) or the general sale (October 7)?
- If using the presale, do you have JMB membership numbers for all passengers?
- Have you checked the total, including passenger facility charges?
- Have you reviewed the conditions of the Promotion fare?
