Two Oktoberfest venues are open in Tokyo right now, and they are very different events
Shiba Park runs until 23 September under Tokyo Tower. Lalaport Toyosu opens on 18 September and keeps going until 12 October, with no entry fee at all.
The two venues side by side
Oktoberfest 2026 is running at two separate Tokyo locations, organised by the Oktoberfest Executive Committee. They overlap for six days, from 18 to 23 September, so during Silver Week you actually get to choose. The easiest way to decide is to look at the entry fee, the closing time and what you want the evening to feel like.

Shiba Park: beer, food and live music
The full name of this one is Oktoberfest 2026 in Shiba Park, Onarimon Station Square, Autumn edition (オクトーバーフェスト2026 in 芝公園（御成門駅前広場）～Autumn～). It is a one-minute walk from exit A6 at Onarimon Station, which makes it one of the easiest outdoor events in central Tokyo to reach after work. Tokyo Tower sits right behind the tents, so it also happens to be a very easy place to take photos.
The beer lineup
Ten German beer brands are pouring here. The organisers highlight Meissner beer and a Festbier that is only sold in the autumn season, the style traditionally brewed for the Munich festival. If you have only ever had German beer from a convenience store shelf, the point of a festival like this is the draught, and the fact that you can order a small pour of several styles instead of committing to one large mug.
The food
Food here is not an afterthought. The menu includes a six-piece platter of German sausages topped with melted cheese, Eisbein, and an autumn-only mushroom boscaiola. Sharing plates between two or three people is the normal way to do it, and it also keeps the bill sensible.
Live music and the toast
The thing that separates Shiba Park from a normal beer garden is the stage. The cover band JEON JINN & ASIANSOUL returns to Oktoberfest for the first time in four years, and from 18 to 23 September they are scheduled to play daily at 16:30 and 19:00. Set times and content may change, so check on the day. Between sets the whole venue joins the traditional German toast, which is the moment most people remember afterwards.
Lalaport Toyosu: free entry, waterfront, dogs
Oktoberfest 2026 in Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu opens on 18 September and runs all the way to 12 October, which makes it the longer of the two by a wide margin. It is on the Seaside Deck in the middle of the mall, directly connected to Toyosu Station, and there is no entry fee. That combination makes it the low-commitment option: you can walk in for one beer on the way home and walk out again.
Six draught brands
Arcobräu, Paulaner, Hofbräu, Hacker-Pschorr, Hirschbräu and Karmeliten, all imported from Germany. Tasting sets are available if you want to compare rather than pick.
Food made for sharing
A volcano pizza with cheese oozing out of it, German roast chicken, and steak cubes with Hokkaido raclette cheese.
Dogs welcome
Sausages for dogs, costumes and a photo spot are planned. Pets are not allowed inside the stage tent.
Stamp rally
Buy a beer from each of the six participating brands, collect all the stamps, and you receive an original 20th anniversary mug.
There is one more thing worth knowing if you are flexible on dates: a 20th anniversary menu is scheduled to go on sale from 29 September, marking 20 years since Urban Dock LaLaport Toyosu opened. The items and conditions are to be announced on the official site, so if the anniversary menu is what you are after, the week after Silver Week is the time to go.
Which one fits your day?
- You want the festival atmosphere. Go to Shiba Park, and go on an evening between 18 and 23 September so you catch the 16:30 or 19:00 live set. The ¥500 entry is what pays for that stage.
- You are bringing children. Elementary school and preschool children get in free at Shiba Park, and Toyosu is free for everyone. Toyosu is sheltered within a shopping mall, which helps a lot when someone needs a toilet or a break.
- You are bringing your dog. Toyosu, without question. Just remember the stage tent is off limits for pets.
- You only have a spare 40 minutes. Toyosu. No entry fee means no pressure to stay long enough to get your money back.
- You missed Silver Week entirely. Toyosu again, since it keeps running until 12 October while Shiba Park closes on 23 September.
Practical notes before you go
- Weather. Both venues go ahead in rain but are cancelled in severe weather. Check the official site before you leave home on a bad day.
- Closing times differ. Shiba Park takes its last order at 21:30 and stops letting people in at 21:00. Toyosu takes its last order at 21:00 and closes at 21:30. Arriving at 20:50 is cutting it fine at either one.
- Weekday opening is late. Neither venue opens until 16:00 on weekdays. Weekends and public holidays start at 11:00, which is the comfortable option if you want to sit down without queueing.
- Alcohol rules. Drinking under the age of 20 and drink-driving, including riding a bicycle, are prohibited by law in Japan. Drinking during pregnancy and breastfeeding should also be avoided.
