Hama Sushi Umaneta Summer Festival Vol. 3 Starts Tuesday, August 4
Hama Sushi, the conveyor-belt sushi chain operated by Hama-Sushi Co., Ltd. (President: Satoshi Minami / Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo), part of the Zensho Holdings group, will hold the Umaneta Summer Festival Vol. 3 at stores nationwide starting Tuesday, August 4, 2026. As of August 3, the fair is planned for roughly 680 stores, bringing summer-ready sushi, side dishes and desserts together in one lineup. Note: prices differ at some locations.
Two Headline Items at 100 Yen (110 Yen incl. Tax)
The star of the fair is the thick-cut flame-grilled albacore with shiso and garlic, where a soy sauce infused with shiso leaf and garlic lifts the natural richness of the tuna. The albacore is cut generously and grilled over an open flame for a smoky aroma balanced by fresh, herbal notes. The second highlight is the corn tempura nigiri: add the Kyushu-style sashimi soy sauce available at each table and it takes on a sweet, roasted-corn character.
- Thick-cut flame-grilled albacore (shiso and garlic flavor): 100 yen (110 yen incl. tax)
- Corn tempura nigiri: 100 yen (110 yen incl. tax)
Nebuta-zuke Gunkan Celebrates the Aomori Nebuta Festival
To mark Hama Sushi taking part in this year’s Aomori Nebuta Festival, the chain is serving the Aomori specialty nebuta-zuke gunkan, a gunkan-style roll topped with nebuta-zuke: herring roe, dried squid and kombu marinated in a soy-based sauce. The result is a regional specialty with a satisfying pop of texture and layered savory flavor.
The lineup also includes rich, aromatic abalone; seared simmered conger eel with a soft, fatty texture; shrimp carpaccio finished lightly with a tomato-based carpaccio sauce and sliced onion; and large braised pork belly nigiri, simmered slowly in a sweet-savory sauce until tender enough to break apart with chopsticks.
- Aomori specialty nebuta-zuke gunkan: 160 yen (176 yen incl. tax)
- Abalone: 160 yen (176 yen incl. tax)
- Seared simmered conger eel: 160 yen (176 yen incl. tax)
- Shrimp carpaccio: 160 yen (176 yen incl. tax)
- Large braised pork belly nigiri: 290 yen (319 yen incl. tax)
Kani Zanmai from the Shifuku no Ikkan Series
The premium Kani Zanmai crab platter is priced at 720 yen (792 yen incl. tax) and lets you compare three crab preparations on one plate: snow crab wrap topped with ikura, king crab fundoshi meat with shiso and crab miso, and raw snow crab.
Sides and Hama Cafe Lab Go Summer
Side dishes include crispy fries in a hot chili seasoning that suits the heat, Kesennuma-produced shark fin ankake chawanmushi where the Chinese-style thickened sauce pairs with the savory egg custard, and chewy grilled chicken gizzards served with the Shikoku-style yuzu ponzu found on each table. At Hama Cafe Lab, the tropical mango kiwi parfait balances sweetness and acidity, while the blue Hama squash is designed to evoke a clear summer sky.
