Yes — foreigners can charge their Apple Account at Japanese convenience stores and earn the cashback. Two musts: (1) it has to be a direct Apple Account top-up at the register (say “Apple Account ni charge onegaishimasu” + show your Wallet barcode) — buying a physical gift card off the shelf does not count; and (2) to stack the “double points” route you generally need a Japanese-issued card.
⚠️ These 10% campaigns are seasonal (often New Year), so confirm the current dates. See the foreigners section below.

⭐ For foreigners in Japan: how to charge & stack the cashback
Anyone can charge — but it must be a direct top-up
There is no residency requirement to charge an Apple Account at a convenience store. The rule everyone misses: only a direct Apple Account balance top-up qualifies — physical POSA gift cards from the shelf do not. The minimum is usually ¥5,000, one Apple Account per person, and the balance cap is ¥300,000. Because each chain runs its own campaign, you can top up across stores (up to roughly ¥40,000 back in total).
The “double points” routes (Card → e-money → Apple Account)
- 7-Eleven: credit card → nanaco → Apple Account (nanaco is instantly issued at any 7-Eleven; ¥50,000 load cap).
- FamilyMart: JCB card → FamiPay → Apple Account.
- MINISTOP: credit card → WAON → Apple Account.
- LAWSON: cash only.
Overseas-issued cards often cannot register to Japanese e-money (nanaco / FamiPay / WAON) and frequently earn no points on prepaid loads — so the “double points” trick needs a Japan-issued card (a JCB card is generally required for the FamiPay / FamilyMart route). You can still charge with cash and get the base 10%, but you lose the extra ~1%.
If you do not have a Japanese card yet, getting one is the foundation for this and most other Japan cashback tricks:
The reward is not instant: codes are usually delivered via LINE (add the campaign’s official LINE account first), and for 7-Eleven you collect it at a Seven Bank ATM. Keep your receipt, upload the photo on the campaign page, and link LINE before the deadline. The campaign pages are in Japanese.
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I pay with a credit card for the Apple Account cashback campaign?
A: You cannot pay directly with a credit card. However, you can charge FamiPay with a JCB credit card, then use FamiPay to top up your Apple Account at FamilyMart for double points.
Q: Is buying an Apple Gift Card (POSA card) eligible for this campaign?
A: No. This campaign only applies to direct Apple Account balance top-ups at the convenience store register. Purchasing Apple Gift Cards from the shelf is not eligible.
Q: Can I participate in the campaign at all 4 convenience stores?
A: Yes! Each convenience store runs an independent campaign. As long as your Apple Account balance stays under the ¥300,000 limit, you can top up at multiple stores. In theory, you could receive up to ¥40,000 in cashback.
Q: When will I receive the cashback gift cards/e-money?
A: Cashback codes will be sent via LINE on February 3, 2026 (you need to add the campaign’s official LINE account as a friend beforehand). For 7-Eleven, you must collect the cashback at a Seven Bank ATM during the designated period.
