Hama Sushi Kicks Off Nippon Umaneta Fair Vol.2 on September 1
Hama Sushi, the conveyor belt sushi chain operated by Hama-Sushi Co., Ltd. (President: Satoshi Minami, Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo) under Zensho Holdings, will launch the Hama Sushi Nippon Umaneta Fair Vol.2 at stores nationwide on Tuesday, September 1. The campaign spotlights seasonal toppings sourced from specific regions across Japan, all at approachable prices.
The first volume of the fair began on Wednesday, August 19, featuring items such as the Domestic Vegetable and White Shrimp Kakiage using white shrimp from Toyama Prefecture at 100 yen (110 yen incl. tax), and earned a strong response. Building on that momentum, Vol.2 puts fish from Kyushu and Hokkaido in the spotlight, with two items priced at just 100 yen (110 yen incl. tax).
Two Highlights at 100 Yen (110 Yen incl. tax)
Kyushu Horse Mackerel Tataki Wrapped in Shiso
Plump, springy horse mackerel from Kyushu is prepared as tataki and paired with refreshing shiso (perilla) leaf and ginger, which lift the natural richness of the blue-backed fish into something crisp and clean. Wrapped in green shiso, it looks as cool as it tastes, making it a perfect fit for early September when summer still lingers.
Hokkaido-Landed Hokke Tempura Nigiri
Atka mackerel (hokke) landed in Hokkaido is fried into crisp tempura and served as nigiri. The contrast between the light, fluffy flesh and the crunchy batter creates a satisfying texture. Hokke is usually associated with dried fish, so enjoying it as tempura nigiri is a proposal only a sushi chain could offer.
Okinawa Diamondback Squid Also Available
The lineup also includes Okinawa Prefecture Diamondback Squid (sodeika) at 160 yen (176 yen incl. tax). It has a pleasantly chewy texture and releases more sweetness the longer you chew. With Kyushu, Hokkaido and Okinawa all represented, a single visit lets you compare flavors from the far north and south of Japan, exactly as the fair’s theme suggests.
Win a 3,000 Yen Dining Voucher via Official X
To celebrate the fair, the official Hama Sushi X account is running a giveaway in which a total of 80 winners will receive a 3,000 yen dining voucher usable at Hama Sushi. It is worth checking before you visit.
