KFC Japan Celebrates Colonel Sanders’ Birthday with Limited-Time “Colonel Birthday Pack”
Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan Ltd. (President: Atsushi Nashima; Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa) will offer the “Colonel Birthday Pack” at KFC locations nationwide for a limited period, from Wednesday, August 26 through Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
September 9 marks the birthday of KFC founder Colonel Harland Sanders, who would be celebrating his 136th birthday this year. Guided by the Colonel’s lifelong wish to “deliver happiness through great taste,” KFC continues to serve its signature products today thanks to the loyal support of its customers. As a heartfelt thank you and in celebration of this once-a-year occasion, the chain has prepared a value pack featuring its flagship Original Recipe Chicken and the popular side item Colonel Crispy.
Original Recipe Chicken: A Decade in the Making
Original Recipe Chicken follows the secret recipe that Colonel Sanders spent ten years perfecting, and each piece is still hand-prepared in store. Its one-of-a-kind flavor comes from 11 herbs and spices, while careful frying in a dedicated pressure fryer for about 15 minutes delivers the plump, juicy finish that no one else can imitate. Completed in 1940, it remains the signature item beloved by countless customers over the decades.
Colonel Crispy, meanwhile, uses light-tasting chicken breast seasoned with a garlic and soy sauce base, wrapped in KFC’s original coating. It is a popular side dish enjoyed by a wide range of customers, from children to adults.
